Ok I've made a previous post that lead to no actual help that fixed the problem. I've had this issue in the past and the fix for that issue fixed this same problem then but isn't now.

I keep getting logged out of sites sometimes while I'm there typing a message on facebook or a forum so when I try to post it says I must login after I already logged in. This is a severe PITA! I've uninstalled completely with removing all folders etc about 3-4 times now and the problem keeps coming back shortly after reinstalling. If this problem doesn't get fixed I'm done with FF.

This problem started after I did a fresh reload of my computer. The browser also keeps resetting my location to somewhere 20-30 miles away which is also a PITA when trying to check store inventory etc.

It would be great if Mozilla actually had a contact us email instead of the forums because this problem isn't getting any better and the help I've received so far has not even put a nudge in the problem.

OMFG. Just left this page went somewhere else that should have had my login info saved and it wasn't then came back here to state such and I was logged out here. I don't know if this is associated with Sync or not as I have that on but it seems to be that it isn't actually keeping my cookies or something. I'm never asked if I want to remember the login information for sites anymore which leads me to believe it's a bug with sync. Don't have a single problem on FF for android though. I can go to any site and still be logged in.

This sounds like a problem with cookies that aren't send to the server.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Also make sure that software isn't blocking cookies. Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.

If the above does not help,

You may have a corrupt cookies.sqlite file.

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the cookies.sqlite file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.

You know I wonder if it is Malwarebytes Anti Exploit Program causing the problem. The only addons I've installed are Adblock and xnotifier. I don't have extra tool bars nor do I allow programs to install them (Even though it seems every freaking program these days trys to sneak extra software onto our computers. Take Flash for example with mcaffe.)

First I'm going to disable the Anti Exploit from working with Firefox and see what that does.

The Cookies file mentioned below in the next post is what fixed my problem some time ago but isn't now. Which leads me to believe it may be the program I mentioned.

Well problem is still there with disabling Malwarebytes Anti Exploit so I guess it's off to try the safe mode bit although nothing that has been added does anything with login information.

Well so far so good running in safe mode. So that means what? One of the addon's are causing the problems? The only extensions I have installed are: AdBlock for Gmail AdBlock for YouTube Adblock Plus AdBlock Plus Pop-up Addon X-notifier

I wouldn't think any one of those have anything to do with account details.

I don't have any theme's other then default.

more options

I narrowed my addons down to the standard adblock plus and x notifier and the problem seems to have gone away.

You can ask advice at the Adblock Plus forum if there are problems with this extension or with a filter list or if you need help to create a filter rule to block content.

An alternative for ABP: µBlock: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ublock/

more options

I am using AdBlock Plus Pop-up Addon so it is likely the others.

AdBlock for Gmail and/or AdBlock for YouTube

Activate one, restart Firefox. After a test run, disable it and try the other.

Watch a little over half of the Cowgirls game and come to check facebook. Not logged in. Check ebay. Not logged in. Come here to post about it not logged in. UGH

So go to check Steam. Not logged in. Met with the We don't recognize this computer.

"We see you're logging in to Steam from a new browser or a new computer. Or maybe it's just been a while..."

So not only is it dumping my login details it's dumping out the cookies that set my computer as being remembered also. Which I forgot to mention in the beginning but it's all one large problem that combines down into one I believe. Cookies.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

Renamed the default profile to old and started a new test profile. So far seems to be working. I think the problem may be in the initial first run screen where I login to my account where it links up Firefox Sync. That would be the only thing different this time around over the past 4 times that have all landed me with being unlogged in etc. This time I haven't signed into it off a fresh profile so it's not taking all my stored passwords over to a new installation.

If that is the problem how do we get into our sync account and wipe it clean to reset it all and start on this new profile if all goes well? I have my bookmarks already backed up as I always regularly keep those up to date as a backup. I also have a list of all well most of my passwords. Those I don't have can be redone if need be.

Close Firefox. Reopen and then go to facebook. Logged out. Go to Steam. Logged out. Come here logged in. I don't know what the heck is going on but it's getting very freaking old. Fresh windows install no porn sites visited or ever visited. Hell I never venture away from about 30-40 different trusted sites.

      • I may not have had the web boxes ticked to remember me at those two sites.*** I just closed the browser again and I'm still logged in now. Will do random browser closes and page loads off and on this evening trying to see if the problem comes back. If not it was a problem with the default profile which possibly could be the link to my sync account on the default profile and the fact this problem kept happening after fresh reinstalls of firefox. Each time I was signing into the sync profile until this last time when I made a new profile and didn't sign in. That is the only difference now over the other times.

Computer reload order: Install windows Install drivers Update windows fully Install MSE Install Malwarebytes Install Office Install firefox (normally sign into sync after install and upon first opening) add adblock + and Xnotifier Install Flash, cc codec pack, jriver media center for streaming to my living room, foxit reader for pdf files and that's about it.

I've been building computers since like 1991. I know what not to do and what programs, emails, links to stay away from to keep from getting bugs and as you can see as soon as the basics of the computer are up I install my protection from crap like that.

This though has me stumped and pissed off to no end. If it were the early 2000s this wouldn't be much of an issue but these days logins have to be x characters with special characters so you end up with 15 different freaking passwords and you can't remember all those. Hence why I want the browser to do what it is supposed to do and remember me, my location, and my login information like I tell it to do.

So in an end apparently the "new profile" doesn't fix the problem because even though I'm checking remember me on the pages along with the window that pops up I'm still not being remembered.

So after messing around off and on this past evening and tonight it seems to be fixed so far. Will mess around with it again in the morning but it looks like the real problem is the sync account.

How can I clear that out and start over with syncing this new test profile I created without having to create a new login for the sync?

Ok well that's a wash. Get up this morning and I'm logged out of everything again.

How do you remove everything Facebook from your computer registry cookies the full nine yards. I need to do a completely fresh install and not setup sync and start from scratch other then my bookmark.html file

Still having this issue. Did a reset last night and it's been fine all day until about the 24h mark. Now it's forgetting me all the time again.
