When clicking onto a mailto link in Firefox, it doesn't open Thunderbird although it is the default mail client
My OS is Win7 ultimate 64-bit. I have both Mozilla 40.0.3 and Thunderbird 38.2.0 as default browser and mail client, resp., and set Thunderbird to handle all protocols it can manage through windows control panel. Nonetheless, when I click in Firefox onto a mailto: link nothing happens. Any idea of what could be wrong? Thanks Dario

You need to set Firefox options to choose e-mail options. You must also set the Windows options as well.
Fred, in Firefox mailto is set to "Thunderbird (default)" and also Windows is apparently set to handle mailto through Thunderbird. That's why I'm puzzled. Dario
