new problem since 40.0.3 upgrade

I've been having weird browser problems since the 40.0.3 upgrade. I am running Firefox for Windows with an up-to-date version of Windows 7 and Webroot Secure Anywhere.

One problem is that, when I click any button in my browser, the intended action happens twice or more. For example, if I click the browser's Back button, it takes me back multiple web pages instead of one.

Another problem is that the Send button in my email is sending multiple copies of the same message. I found this out yesterday when a friend pointed it out to me.

Another problem is that text no longer selects normally in my browser when I am working in a text entry field -- like this one, for example. Again, this seems to have something to do with clicks in the browser window being multiplied. Sometimes a single click selects a word; sometimes, if I double-click on a word to select it, the entire text block is selected, as it normally would be with a triple click. For now, if I want to edit, I am using my keyboard.

I have tried restarting my browser in Safe Mode, but these issues still occur. They also continue to occur if I turn off Webroot's internet security and restart Firefox. For this reason, I'm guessing either that they are bugs in the current upgrade of Firefox or that there are compatibility issues between this version of Firefox and Windows. I've shared data in the hope that this will help you to diagnose the problem.

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?

There is a known issue with Webroot in Firefox 40 versions. Contact them for support.

@Fred McD: I tried your suggestion this morning. Unfortunately, the problems are still there.

@the-edmeister: Thank you. I will contact Webroot and see what they tell me. I'll update here if they suggest a fix that solves the problem.
