If Firefox is available in your Start Menu, try to right-click on it, click on Send to then Desktop (create shortcut).

If it doesn't work, I will give you an other way.

Doogie - You need to place your mouse pointer on the Firefox item listed in your Start menu and then use your RIGHT button (Not the left button), of your mouse to click on it. That should generate a drop-down menu from which you can select "Send to" or if not that then select "pin to task bar".

To place the shortcut also on your desktop with no "Send to" in the drop down menu, then you will need to go into the Mozilla Firefox folder and right click on the browser's executable icon. If you are not sure how to do that we can walk you through that too.

Ok, no problem.

Open Windows Explorer, select your main disc (generally C), double-click on Program Files then Mozilla Firefox. You should have a file firefox.exe.

Now right-click on it, click on Create Shortcut. A firefox.exe - Shortcut file should be added. Then cut and paste it on your Desktop.

@Dingeroo: actually the function Send to… is only available since Windows Vista, so not for Windows XP (and doogie0136 seems to be on). So we have to employ old methods to create a shortcut.

Yeh, we should have looked at his System Details in the beginning - Version NT. 5.1 - which is XP, so you are right.
