MacbookProOS Xv.10.6.8 Intel Core Duo will run ok using FF 39.0 Beta5; but will it increase security issues over a 64bitupgrade?
Can't afford upgrade now but am scared that it will be less safe because of the 32 bit incription technology. Doesn't work perfectly, but am I as safe as anybody else for a few more months when I can afford to upgrade my computer, or should I hock my guitar and bite the bullet? Please help me. What I lack in Geekiness I will make up for in appreciation. Thanks

I would not worry about using a 32bit Mac with Firefox.
Firefox for Windows is still only 32 bit program, although 64bit versions of Firefox are in development for Windows again.

Thanks so much John99. My wife thanks you too, as I can now take her out to dinner, as I have a little money because I don't have to upgrade my Macbook Pro for a little while yet By the way, this is my first sign up forum experience. I guess you could call it successful

I did take your question to be about Firefox.
It is probably worth pointing out the situation With Windows. The Windows XP enjoyed a great popularity and long supported life from Windows. They have only just recently stopped supporting XP and even then announced an additional fix for its IE browser after the final End Of Life was announced. So if anything an XP user is more secure using Firefox than using Microsoft's built in Browser (IE).
As for your System X v 10.6 (Snow Leopard) I do not think it is now supported by Apple. That is something you need to check more fully elsewhere. Here's a couple of links

Mac users may also try to argue that most Malware is aimed at Windows because there re so many users, and consider Windows to be less safe than Macs because of the larger userbase is more commonly attacked.
