I just received a brand new iMac 5K display. Firefox and Safari are working fine on the computer. But I installed Parallels 10 and set a VM OS of 10.10.3. I have included Firefox 37.0.1 and Flash Player 17.0.0.169. I have created a Snap Shot of the VM. I want to test Google's Cauliflower vest and doing research on Filevault2. I tried to stream this video https://derflounder.wordpress.com/2013/06/07/session-videos-available-from-penn-state-macadmins-conference-2013/ within the VM. In Safari it streams perfectly but in Firefox it does not. I then tried Fox News, CNN, and Youtube to stream videos with the same results. Of course Parallels says it is a Firefox issue since Safari works. As stated, Flash Player 17.0.0.169 is installed and active when I check the plugins.

Hello,

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).

To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

  1. Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
  2. Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
  3. Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
  4. Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel.

The image "fpSettings1.PNG" does not exist.
  5. Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
  6. Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
  7. Restart Firefox.

This Flash Player Help - Display Settings page has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.

Does this solve the problem? Let us know.
