I use Firefox on Windows 7 32bit and I updated on version 37.0.1 immediately after its release.

Yesterday, after using Firefox some time, my whole screen got white, not only the Firefox window but also the Windows Taskbar. The computer was obviously frozen, I couldn't do anything to make the PC react (I tried [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Del]). I cut off the power and restartet the computer. After some hours (I watched a movie with VLC media player, no problems there), I used Firefox again. The screen flickered every then and now (about once every minute), scrolling wasn't smooth. I finally got a blue-screen caused by some timeout-error with the graphic card driver.

My graphic card is AMD Radeon HD 5670. I updated the driver via AMD auto-detect tool and my newly installed driver version now is 14.501.1003-141120a-177997C.

Yeah, problem solved - I thought. After using Firefox today again, I got the same white screen again. I cut off the power again, started the computer again, opened Firefox and went to the same website. At the very same point on that website, I got the same white-screen again, although in the background color of that site instead of white. So it's reproducible.

The website is: https://www.douglas.de/douglas/fragrancefinder/index.html (website in German, white-screen occured after using the JavaScript-applet). However, this is not the same website that caused the crash yesterday.

The problem occurs with both OMTC enabled and disabled. If you need further information, let me know.

I appreciate you reading this. Sorry for my English, it's not that good...

Edit: I did a litte work-around. I downloaded and installed Opera and it turned out that the same problem (white-screen and total PC crash) occurs in Opera as well as in Firefox when using the very same JavaScript applet. I disabled hardware acceleration in Firefox...

Quick update:

I tried to start my computer the next day but it didn't. Screen kept being black, though I could hear the CPU cooler. So I figured the error was caused by the graphic card.

I just assembled a new one, no problems until now. I keep on testing but I'm sure this problem's solved.

Anyway, I keep wondering if the graphic card crash was caused by the Firefox Update... - Is that possible?

Bastla I do not know, however if you run a diagnostics for the computer the error might lead to some explanation. I can say there is no malicious intent in downloading Firefox.

I am happy to hear that the computer is up an running, and with a new graphics card :-)
