Since upgrading to the latest version of Firefox, have been experiencing terrible performance. I have websites load time increase of even hesitate in loading. Also I keep getting the error that my Adobe Flash is not current, even after re-installing the Adobe Flash several times.

Laptop configuration:

Lenovo Thinkpad E530 core i5 processor with 8 GB Ram running on Windows 8.1 Pro.

I am seriously considering dumping Firefox which I have been using since 2.x and going back to MS Explorer which I hate. Any help with these performance issues would be greatly appreciated.

Frustrated Firefox user ;(,

Jonathan Cohen

FredMcD,

I have fixed my Firefox performance issues by doing a refresh from the safe mode popup. After performing the Firefox refresh this appears to have resolved any of my add-on conflicts. I would like to close this case. Thank you for all your assistance.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

FredMcD,

Thanks for the response. I did launch Firefox in safe mode, response is a lot faster. I also tested the Adobe Flash, which is now working. So how to I get Firefox to work in regular mode?

Thanks,

Jon

It could be the work of one of your add-ons. Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac:<Command>)<Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Disable a few add-ons, then Restart Firefox.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue. Re-enable the last group ONE AT A TIME (restarting FF) until the problem returns.

Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is detective.
