How to get Firefox to replace Flash by VLC or Shumway
Linux Ubuntu (french), Firefox 36 (french), Vlc Multimedia Plugin, extension Shumway 0.10.203 tried the two , one at the time and I get the same result : Able to see video on You tube, just try site to purchase tickets for Disney on Ice, unable to see page to fill Also unable to see video or play games on Facebook always asking to update Adobe Flash player Search forums english, french, on the web and mozilla but nothing up to date regarding this situation for us in Linux. Did as suggested on mozillazine : sudo apt get ... 11.2.202.442. last version of Adobe Flash https://blocklist.addons.mozilla.org/fr ... ocked/p830, mention is block by Firefox. So is there a way to tell Firefox each time to replace Adobe Flash by VLC or Shumway ex a command before firefox and that It will work.

I started on Ubuntu I shall check again. But I think we Linux Firefox user will have to wait for the Final version of Shumway Thank you very much everyone

Flash Player Plugin on Linux 11.2.202.439 to 11.2.202.441 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked/p830
The Flash player 11.2.202.442 for Linux came out on Feb 4/5 and is not on blocklist
James, yes looking at the site it is not block. First attempt after installing Flash from a Ubuntu site I got messsage of blocking and clicking on it gave me the above page. So I deleted Flash from plugins page and deleted file in profile Did sudo apt -get.....11.2.202.442, deactivated VLC plugin and Shumway On You Tube OK but Facebook (for my wife) I did a print screen. Tried video OK on two but when you click on games you get a message get Flash ( clock on dock give you time and date)
The is not a blocked Flash message but likely it says you need a much more current version like say Flash 16.0.
But of course Adobe only supports the old 11.2 ESR with security/stability updates for Linux.
Sadly many sites have dropped support for the Flash player 11.2 for Linux and the 11.1 for Android and BB PlayBook.

Thank you James for that answer. Is there a command that we could give Firefox each time a Flash page appear to change it for VLC or Shumway. When will Shumway will completed?
Shumway is still pretty much a work in progress.
Since you use Linux there is a experimental Fresh Player Plugin wrapper that can make use of the Pepper Flash plugin that comes with Google Chrome.
And no Mozilla has no plans to make use of the Pepper Flash player with Firefox.
