Correct. If you think there may be a problem, follow these instructions;
Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac Then reinstall the latest version.
Flash Player Version 16.0.0.305
https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
Shockwave Director Version 12.1.7.157 http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
Opps, Sorry, wrong instructions.
Remove both programs. Then install the current.

In the address bar, type about:plugins<enter>. Search the page for Acrobat. look for the older version.
Example; Adobe Acrobat File: nppdf32.dll,nppdf32.dll Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\browser\nppdf32.dll,C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\AIR\nppdf32.dll Version: 11.0.9.29 State: Enabled Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 11.0.9
This will show you the path to that program. Copy the Path Only. Also note the name of the file, and remember it. Now Close Firefox. Open your file browser and paste the path in the address bar. Find the file, and delete it. Now you can restart Firefox. Warning ! Remember to delete the right program.
Thanks! Especially for the last sentence :). Now that I found the path, I see the Adobe Acrobat 10.1.13.16 is the full version and Adobe Acrobat 11.0.10.32 is the reader. Should I delete the Reader?
Remove the 10.1.13.16
Quick clarification before I do that. I am not uninstalling the full version from the computer, just the add-on in Firefox - correct?

I'm having the same problem and followed the instructions provided by FredMcD. While it didn't uninstall the full version, it did confuse my computer and didn't fix the problem at all.
As far as I can tell, this issue seems to result when the full version of Adobe Acrobat X is installed. After installing/updating the dedicated Acrobat plugin online, Firefox still recognizes the other plugin associated with the full version.
The .dll file associated with the path you find in about:plugins is (oddly) not the plugin. Unfortunately, I'm not sure which file actually is the plugin. Would be great if someone can actually figure out how to resolve this issue...

What do you mean by both "programs"?
If one of the programs is Adobe Acrobat X, this would remove the entire application from my computer, which I don't want to do. I just want to remove the associated plugin for Firefox.
