reinstalling firefox after wiping a mac after the user profile corrupted and my profile has nothing in it although everything was synched. -can it be recovered?
I have the mozilla back up on an external hard-drive but cannot find the hidden files through there using ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile folder> ~/Library/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/ Also that data may be corrupted.
I have an android device, no longer synched, that does have the history on it, but don't want to synch it just in case the device's firefox is overwritten with the blank version on the mac which is running yosemite. Please help!

That back up is your best bet. It is possible to create a new profile on the desktop, do not attach the sync account until it looks correct: Bookmarks: Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer, If it is corrupt you can save the non-corrupt parts.
