Firefox crashes

已張貼

I have had 6 crashes in the past 3 days. I called my computer tech and he told me I need to reformat my pc at a crazy cost considering I just purchased it 3 months ago. This is the crash report: bp-1660c50f-4ff2-47a2-bab3-65f3e2141220 12/20/2014 1:15 PM bp-608c3791-75d5-4a22-8bbc-7cff42141218 12/18/2014 4:04 PM bp-0d17e237-ce04-49cc-8c02-1f6102141215 12/15/2014 4:12 PM bp-0f2214d2-f482-4094-8945-f47f72141220 12/15/2014 3:00 PM bp-d2224e5c-4050-421c-893e-df18c2141215 12/15/2014 10:58 AM bp-c04db626-8363-4616-9fb9-148ac2141214 12/14/2014 11:11 AM bp-1f1f1735-11dc-4616-9e5d-dc9a42141214

Does this mean anything to anyone? Is there anyone that can help me as I love using FF and would had to have to switch to another browser.

Hello missdenise,

Have you tried to go through troubleshooting steps which can be found in the Firefox crashes - Troubleshoot, prevent and get help fixing crashes article. I usually go through that troubleshooting article when I have crashes issue with my Firefox.

If the computer was bought 3 months ago, it should still be under warranty.

The crash report flagged these programs;

TmFFExt2.dll = 趨勢科技 OfficeScan 用戶端 = Trend Micro OfficeScan Client

quartz.dll = Microsoft

TmBpFfCore.dll = Browser Exploit Prevention - Trend Micro Browser Plug-In

Signature memcpy - tmbpffcore.dll

Perform a System File Check to fix corrupted system files http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

See if there are updates for your graphics drive drivers https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

That is what I thought about warranty. But no... only the hardware is under warranty. I will see if I can figure out how to do these suggestions.. Thanks.

Try to disable the Trend Micro extension (tmbepff@trendmicro.com) that shows in the crash report as an installed extension.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can use the System File Checker to check for missing and corrupted font files. The System File Checker needs to be run from an Elevated Command Prompt. Open a cmd.exe window as Administrator: Start, click Programs, click Accessories Right-click Command Prompt, and choose "Run as administrator" Click past the UAC Screen After the cmd.exe prompt, type: sfc.exe /scannow and press Enter
