The step 4, Run in safe mode, probably you mean firefox safe mode.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) and see if that helps.

i actually did both just didn't list. I have been trouble shooting this for about 4 days now so i just forgot when i was making the list in my last post...ie i reset firfox and also booted into safe mode on my pc with networking enabled. no differance in those mentioned sites (and a few others i didn't). Even double checked just now to make sure i wasn't mistaken. So any other ideas?

Try reinstalling Adobe Flash Player.

1. In Control Panel of Windows, click Programs and Features or Add/Remove Programs.
2. Uninstall Adobe Flash Player ActiveX and Adobe Flash Player Plugin.
3. Go to get.adobe.com/flashplayer and download it.

• Make sure the optional offer is unticked.

1. Run the installer and reinstall Adobe Flash Player.
2. Try visiting the websites again to see if you have the same result.

Does it give you an unresponsive script error?

1. Press the Windows Key+R.
2. In the Run box type msinfo32 and click OK.

Were those crash reports made due to your problem. The first says there was no crash, and the second mentioned Shockwave Player. It must be an issue with Shockwave Player then. Try going to Plugins and disabling Shockwave Flash.

To disable ShockWave Flash...

1. Click the Menu button.
2. Click Add-ons.
3. On the Add-ons page, click Plugins
4. Look for Shockwave Flash X, open the drop list, and select Never

Activate.

After disabling Shockwave Flash, try loading the webpages again and post the results.

You, the Flash player and Shockwave director are two different plugins. The Shockwwave (director) player is used little now days as it is used for say some game of learning stuff. So do not get the two words mixed up

Also in your first reply you mentioned to uninstall Adobe Flash Player ActiveX well the version is for IE as no other browser uses it.

i had tried disabling shockwave flash before I ever posted in here and again after ur recommendation but no effect as before. i do use IE sometimes so Adobe is there for that. And to be honest the more mozilla is down right now the more i have to use IE in the mean time.

oh and on the crash reoports....no i don't think they were. mozilla has not been crashing just lagging or not loading pages. Thus the reason i only had 2 crash reports to choose from that had active links. there were 5 more on the crash page but only those two i posted had anything besides "oops this page is not found...404"

Well, you have plenty of those fancy computer specs so low performance isn't a suspect. Neither is flash player or anything like that. You have no add-ons so that isn't a problem, either. Is Firefox actually freezing (Window says Not Responding, nothing works, etc) or are webpages just loading slowly? Go to speedtest.net and see what your internet speed is then post it here. Also, press the Windows Key+R simultaneously to open the run box, type C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc, click OK, open a file called Hosts, open it in Notepad, and paste the contents of it here.

It's possible that you just have a bad internet connection.

It' s not the internet connection I don't think. I have run IE and mozilla side by loading pages...IE would be instant and Mozilla for the same page would lag or not load. THAT SAID, i have noticed most sites are loading better now. Still found at least one expedia.com but most (cnn, ign and mozilla) are back to instant/near instant loads i have been use to in the past. Zero idea what I did to fix the issues with most of the domains loading slow/hanging. Mozilla on cnn/ign/mozilla.com was lagging when i logged off last night and in the morning after i booted up it ran fine (no not first attempt at rebooting to fix). Anyways, I'll keep digging and trying to fix the last few domains that lag when loading. And as of writing this reply I checked with IE and Mozilla on the still lagging some sites (expedia for sure will check to see if more sites are still affected)....only mozilla has the issue, ie loads them up instantly.

This is almost solved, any more input about what caused this or how to fix the remaining issues would be appreciated. Thanks all for the input and help all!

James, I understand the difference between Adobe Flash Player and Shockwave Director. The reason I called it Shockwave Player is because that it what the plug-in's name is.

The only thing left to do is to completely reinstall Firefox. We've ruled out everything else possible, so there might be something wrong with Firefox internally. It's really hard to diagnose it remotely so i think that reinstalling is worth a try.

Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.

1. Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
2. After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
3. Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
   • Windows:
     • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
     • C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
   • Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
   • Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
   1. Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
   2. Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.

You, The Flash Plugin is listed as Shockwave Flash, not Shockwave Player.

you, already i have stated the fact in my initial post i have reinstalled firefox...several times now.

Though to be fair i left out the fact i checked the C:/program files/ as well as all my other drives for potential firefox data. So sorry reinstall is a no go. You, though i appreciate the walk-through, you need to include the C:\Users\(user name)\AppData\Local and C:\Users\W4R\AppData\Roaming on any program re-install if your truely want a "fresh" install in windows. I have had issues with other programs in the past and i find this is a key step many people/software devs over look when trouble shooting a misbehaving program.

All that said firefox is performing the same as before...most sites fixed but i have found a few more that lag...besides expedia i found some of newegg's pages hang as did another site but i forgot to write it down at the time cause i was busy on the phone at the same time. Regardless its become a much more minor issue. I have also loaded new drivers for my GPU, twice this week, thanks nvidia :( , with no real change in load times before and after. Made a point of checking them.

At this point i think its a software issue from either an auto-update to: windows, one of the browser plugin's, or some other program causing conflict with mozilla...OR my windows install itself has some errors and is do for a fresh install itself after nearly 2 years.

My plan is to pick through more of my programs and see what has been updated in the last 8 days...see if anything else needs a fresh install or tweak to its settings. Also might try some older versions of plugins/gfx drivers and see if they make a differance. Will take time but will inform you all on my progress.

Any new idea's not already listed are welcome....but please read whole thread as i am getting a lot of "try this" when i listed it as already done..."now try this again but do this instead here"....is a whole other story i want to get into.

got an update for firefox a just a minute ago. seems to have ironed out the remaining laggy load pages. Still not sure what all fixed what. i really hate vague fixes like this cause it probably won't be any use to anyone else trouble shooting their own issues.
