Hey goth, Please follow these instructions on how to reinstall or file a bug for builds of ubuntu http://help.ubuntu.com/community/FirefoxNewVersion

However, can you please also elaborate on how it does now work and what the site looks like?

very simple. i expect a simple DIRECT solution. not another link that has absolutely nothing to do with the problem.

reinstalls do nothing. been around computers 40 years - know all the basic shit.

bug has been reported a while ago and still no answer.

again very simple: google play does not work in firefox. fix?

site is a simple list of playable nonvideo podcasts in mp3 format.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Edit > Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

goth1856, I understand that you want a direct solution. I would be happy to investigate the status of the bug that you are asking about.

As far as I understand, Google play requires Flash player. Does your version support version 11.1?

Also does this happen in Safe Mode?Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode this will tell if its one of the add ons as well.

If you have the bug reference we can ask about this, as well. In the meantime I do not have an update or a fix for your issue.

very funny. there is no "safe mode" in xbuntu ~ chromebook. that's for windoze.

Goth1856 if you went to the link you would see it was about starting Firefox in safemode, not the Linux OS.

The Google Play store can be viewed fine in Firefox for Linux.

repeat - there is NO safe mode in xubuntu. stop the microshit windows garbage. i could care less about viewing. i want to PLAY my music.

Read again.

And in case you missed the link here is it again. The "safe mode and " "Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode" in posts by guigs2 and cor-el was a link to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

Which shows you how to start Firefox itself in safemode. If you are not viewing the article with Linux version of Firefox you need to select Linux on left sidebar.

You use the -safe-mode switch like for example firefox -safe-mode

Xubuntu/Ubuntu does have a safe mode though they call it recovery mode but that is not what guigs2, cor-el and myself was referring to nor were we referring to Windows safemode.
