How can I print every other page rather than every page?

I want to print certain pages of documents because some have information on page that I don't need. But I can't find a way to select certain pages (like 1,3). The print add-on mentioned in another question didn't work ... didn't even given an option to select pages. Chrome and Explorer both give this option. Why not on Firefox? There must be a way to do it without having to add in something. This is pretty basic.

Are you asking about Firefox OS - Firefox Browser

or Desktop Browser???

I don’t know how to answer your question. I’m on Firefox on my laptop and my PC. I don’t know what Firefox OS is (operating system?). I guess it’s Firefox browser.

Sorry, you mistaken. Firefox OS is different from Firefox Browser

How to print websites

I know how to print a web page. I know how to format to print web pages. I know all that. But my question is ... and it's not necessarily web pages ... how to I select which pages to print (not number of copies, not if they're collated). If I only want to print pages 1 and 3, on any other browser, I can put in 1,3 and it'll only print pages 1 and 3. On Firefox, you don't give that option ... I have to print every single page if I want the first and last pages.

This question was posted under the Firefox OS product which is Mozilla's own mobile operating system. I've move this the proper product now.

Thanks.

Firefox OS product? Mozilla's own mobile operating system? Do I assume you think I'm using this on my cell? It'll be interesting to see if I can find it in the 'proper product', whatever or wherever that is. Or I'll just go back to Chrome if i want to print.

jills,

I know you are not using a cellular device. That's why I have moved it to the appropriate product (Firefox for Desktop) section, so desktop contributors for Firefox can get to your issue. If I knew the answer for your issue I would've answered it as well but I don't so I am putting it in the right place so the right people can get to you.

You mentioned 'mobile operating system'. To me, mobile is cell, not desktop. I looked in Firebox OS, typed in my question, but I couldn't find it. As a top 25 contributor, if you can't answer my question, there is no answer. How to print every other page, or just certain pages should be 'print 101' in any environment. This is the first time I've ever encountered that ability not available. So I would assume Firefox forgot to write that code to have that option.

I give up. I went through Firefox OS, and there is nothing remotely close to my question.

Your question is no way related to Firefox OS. That's why as a moderator I moved it to Firefox for Desktop. For some reason that I don't know why... It was asked in the Firefox OS product. Another volunteer or paid staff member will respond to you shortly. The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected at http://input.mozilla.org/, where a team of people read it and gather data about the most common issues.

If not, please be patient as this issue was posted in the wrong product forum therefore, moving it back puts it back in its place so you can get the proper support that you need regarding printing every other page.

HI jills, There are some printing options that are available in Firefox.

  1. Open File > Print... in Firefox
  2. Under Page from - to - there is a drop down menu that by default has "Firefox". Click that and select "Paper Handling"
  3. In this menu "Pages to Print" is there and you can select Odd or Even. This will print every other page.

If there is a specific amount you can specify the page range in the top menu.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your persistence. For Andrew, regarding moving it to Firefox for Desktop, finding where a question was moved to is as hard as finding an answer. And oh yes, I will definitely leave feedback! It shouldn't be that hard to find questions even remotely close to what I'm asking. But I find questions that aren't related to printing at all. I don't understand. Putting in any topic in the Community blog should bring up multiple choices and it should be easy to find something close to my question.

quigs2, Thanks for the tip on printing options. Sadly, I've gone there. (I scanned in the print option page, but apparently PDFs aren't uploadable.) So what I get is: Print range

 All
 Pages from 1 to 1
 Selection (greyed out)

No drop down box anywhere. No options to print other than consecutive pages. Sorry. Any other suggestions?
