I don't know if I am missing something here but on my Windows 10 machine I am seeing the E2EE tab in Account Settings (as I should), however, I can't see it on my MacBookPro 2020, M1. I could see it before but now I can't... I wish to add a key pair to one of my accounts but I can't. I tried using the key manager and generated a key pair for the account I want but when I draft an email it doesn't let me use OpenPGP...

Hello,

as Microsoft 365 will soon disable basic auth, we have switched to OAuth2 but unfortunately, Thunderbird randomly displays an Authentication error and at this point we won't receive any new messages.

Every time I start Thunderbird, emails are fetched correctly, but then after some time the error appears and at this point, Thunderbird doesn't even try it again. I can't even find an option to try again and have to restart Thunderbird at which point everything works again.

This is really problematic for us as it can take a while until we notice the issue and until then we may miss an important email.

We are using shared inboxes which means that we are accessing a mailbox like sharedinbox@business.de using tenant@business.de and the tenants MFA.

Why does OAuth2 work this unreliable?

How can we get Thunderbird to just try again automatically?

Thunderbird 102.1.2 (64 bit)

Hello all, can I ask for some advice regarding digital certificate installation. I am running Win 10 (64) with Thunderbird 91.11.0. I have 3 distinct accounts in Thunderbird. On one account I have installed (some years back) my digital certificate which appears to be working eg. the s/mime certificate does get attached to my sent emails. The problem arises with one of my other accounts. I obtained a new certificate from the same authority and cannot seem to install it. When I go to e2ee in Thunderbird setup, I click on Manage S/MIME Certificates and the only one shown is the first account named cert. I try clicking Select instead and Thunderbird reports an error saying Cert Manager cannot find a valid cert with the correct email address. I have checked and the certificate is installed under mmc in Windows and also in Firefox. I’ve been trying to resolve this for days, even got a new cert from the authority (after revoking/deleting the old one). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Dear Team

We are using Microsoft Office365 web mail and configured with Thunderbird . Incoming setting are configured in IMAP.

Recent days Microsoft stopped support of basic security. I dont think there is any connection between this and that. From that moment in our thunderbird it is asking for password continously and unable to work. Pls guide us to resolve this issue.

Hotmail/Outlook accounts are not working with Thunderbird!! I haven't been able to send emails from my hotmail account. I could receive but not send. I then deleted it off thunderbird to then reinstall to try fix the issue but that didn't work. I am putting all the correct server details in and the correct password but it isn't working. It just says checking password until it times out. My AV and windows defender are off, ports are forwarded, it's nothing to do with my network. There's something between thunderbird and microsoft that doesn't work. When I had the account in my thunderbird, it came up with an authenticate smtp issue error code.

I'm on Windows 10 and the latest version of TB. Thanks

Today my installed copy of TB 1.2.0.3 has started asking for authentication for gateway.icloud.com, but I have no iCloud or related connections or accounts setup in Thunderbrid, just my FastMail email and calenders, plus a GMail account.

I've looked through all my accounts settings to confirm that iCould is not used by any accounts I've setup in Thunderbird.

Can anyone offer a suggestion as to whay I'm getting that authentication dialog?

A couple of hours ago, Thunderbird (91.11.0) stopped sending. Still receives OK. I have not made any changes in months at least. Since the domain host site showed recent e-mail problems (said to be fixed), I assumed that problem was at their end. Error message on send:

Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Message Rejected (104) [CDD9060013/1659467989-733115]. Please check the message and try again.

Domain host said that my DMARC, DKM and SPIF records were missing on those domains, though they had installed them themselves last year (and everything has worked fine since then). They reinstalled them on both relevant domains. No joy. Wanted me to change some Thunderbird server settings, including removing SSL (which I didn't like) - no good. I can still use their webmail, but that won't do the job.

Search for recent Thunderbird POPmail problems showed nothing. Does anyone here know of a possible cause, other than some kind of messup by the somain host? I will be most grateful for any guidance.
