Good morning . . . I have recently switched from an old Windows 10 machine to a new macmini, and have switched my Office 365 account over to it. Simply stated, Outlook is not working, and I have no desire to continue with it. Will Thunderbird suit my needs? Will it allow me to import my old contacts and emails, both from my Windows machine and the new MacOutlook?

I have been using Thunderbird for ages now with no problem, but I suddenly realised that no recent emails were appearing from my Gmail account. I have tried everything suggested on line to resolve the problem, including uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird, and deleting and re-entering my acccount details but neither the IMAP or SMTP servers will connect to Gmail. I have reset all of the server settings on Thunderbird, and have checked that Gmail is IMAP compliant (which, apparently, is is now automatically). I have spent hours trying to sort this out and am just at the point of abandoning Thunderbird completely, but I am loathe to do so if there is a solution. The latest error message i have received is "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password" but I don't know what else I can check or change.

Today I have experienced a problem downloading new messages, bulk, trash or anything else in my mail server into thunderbird. it requires my primary password and then my regular password. I just set up my primary password so I understand why it is asking for that, but I don't understand why it is also asking for my regular password before I can get access to the mail server that I am using. the regular password was set up on 6/17/24 and until today it was working fine.

I'm having a problem with my Google calendar on on of my Macs.

O have an M1 Mac Mini and I can access all of my calendars through that system. However, I also have a 2013 MacBook Air running Big Sur 11.17.10 and I can only access two out of my four calendars via Thunderbird 128.14.0esr on that machine.

The four calendars I have subscribed to are my personal calendar, US Holidays, Stardates (because I'm a Trek fan) and Phases of the Moon. On my MacBook, I can only access or view my personal and US Holidays calendars. The other two can't be found by Provider for Google Calendar.

Anyone know why this might be and how I ca fix it? Seems silly that an Provider wouldn't be able to access these calendars since the same version functions on both TB 128 and TB 140.

My folders used to show a yellow diamond when there was new email in the folder. The folder colour does still change to blue to indicate unread email. When I open a folder, the yellow diamond still shows up on new email, as well as the unread flag. What have I done? How do I configure Thunderbird to show that yellow diamond on folders with new email?

I deleted over 300,000 emails from my trash. It now tells me I have a couple thousand files left. however, before the massive delete, it said I was using 15 GB of storage. now, with only 2000 files left, it still says I have 15 GB used. I've tried compacting, but I get an error, saying I do not have enough memory to compact. How to I release all that memory that contains just ghost files?

I configured my account using the server's IMAP service. Every time I open Thunderbird, it asks me for the password of the calendar service of that IMAP service. But it doesn't have a calendar service. Even if it has, I don't want to use it.

I looked everywhere in the settings page, but could not find a way to disable it.

Why the app keeps asking me for the calendar service's password and how to disable it?

My company uses your email software and everyones email is not working. For example, my email (madison.l@valleyhha.com) does not allow me to send messages without an error popping up (Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent-madison.l@valleyhha.com.)

This goes for my entire staff of 20 people. Same error, also all my unread messaged in my inbox have now disappeared. Not only that but we are also not receiving any new emails either

I have created a new gmail address for my wife. Would like to add this address to my existing Thunderbird Mail account so that her emails also come to my Thunderbird email account. Not sure how to add her address to do this.. Thanks

I have the Thunderbird desktop installed on windows 10 computers that are blocked from any internet browsing. I am not able to find instructions on how to share calendars between computers.

I am able to export and import calendars between computers, but the events only show up in the side bar as tasks. We want to be able to edit the shared calendar from any computer.

seem to have a problem with OAuth2 and my aol accounts in thunderbird. can't send or receive emails to/from my aol account on thunderbird. this seems to have something to do with change to OAuth2.

When I search for a name in Thunderbird mail e.g Lennart, nothing from 2026 comes up, only older mails from 2025-12-31 and backwards. if I search on his e-mailadress, e.g l.name@ppost.se it finds avery mail. What is wrong?
