What does this mean, Unable to open the summary file for Sent . Perhaps there was an error on disk, or the full path is too long. This just appeared. How do I get my sent emails back

Please teach me how to quickly jump to the folder where I have saved an attachment file on my PC soon after I saved the file? I want to open the attachment file soon after I have saved it to a folder I selected upon saving it. Does Thunderbird have a function to indicate the folder to which I have saved an attachment file on my PC?

I installed and set up Thunderbird on my Mac in order to create a backup for a Yahoo/AT&T email account which I may be getting rid of. I used the imap configuration and connected just fine, everything downloaded and I see that the number of messages in my inbox is in the thousands (yes, I'm a person who saves everything in my email, please don't judge). The synchronization and storage are set to synch all messages locally regardless of age and don't delete any messages. However, when I search for old messages in my inbox, it produces no results. When I scroll through the inbox, the oldest message I can see is about 7 months old. There is plenty of storage on the computer. Any advice on how to get access to the older messages and how to make them searchable? Is there a limit to how many messages Thunderbird can display in the inbox? The whole point was to create a searchable backup of everything for when I get rid of the email account. Thanks!

I am having trouble with trying to completely uninstall Thunderbird. I need to get back to a clean install because every time I just uninstall all the email accounts come back into the new installation, and I must have a clean install to get one of my emails to work sending emails. I have tried just to use the Windows Add or Remove programs but that does not get rid of all the files. Any help? Thanks

When I logged in today after a few days away I realised I was not getting any Task Reminders, although there should have been several for repeating tasks which were due whilst I was away. On looking in the Calendar window I found that all the Tasks had disappeared. How do I get them back? (I do have the computer backed up with Macrium Reflect, so I could restore the file(s) from last week, but I have no idea where the Calendar data is stored.)

Please, I need help. Bear with me while I describe the problem.

Let's say I have two email accounts set up, user1 and user2. Each one has been set up for quite some time and both have worked as expected for years. If I send an email from user1 a copy of the message drops in the sent folder of user1 and the reply comes back to user1, and if I send an email from user2 a copy of the message drops in the sent folder of user2 and the reply comes back to user2. Not any longer.

Now, if I send an email from user1, a copy of the message drops in the sent folder of user1 and the copy clearly says it was sent from user1's email. However, the reply comes back to user2's email inbox. The source of the message clearly shows it was sent TO: user2, Delivered-To: user2, Received: from line says it is for <user2>.

This has been going on since the latter part of last year.

The body of the email marked "junk" is blank, so how can I determine whether or not it's actually junk? Other email programs I've used show at least the basic plain text content, blocking images and links.

For some reason, I am getting message that the Certificate for server is not valid (etc.). I can not get or send my emails as of this morning. Is there something I can do to resolve this issue?

In Thunderbird 128.10.1 ESR, opening a .eml file directly from a NAS (SMB path) results in a blank message window. However, if I copy the same file to the local desktop and open it, the content displays correctly.

I tested Thunderbird 128.5.2 ESR, and it can open the same .eml file from NAS without any issue, so this seems to be a regression in 128.10.1.

I tried modifying the following config values with no effect:

security.sandbox.content.level = 0

security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy = false

Is this a new security restriction or a bug? Any workaround or fix available? Thanks!

I am having a problem with my thunderbird email client. There was an update to the program over night and now when I load thunderbird it is unable to show me the content of emails in any of the folders. I can see the emails in the list and all the folders are shown in the folder tree on the left. Howevr I am not able to access the content of the emails. My thunderbird profile folder is on a network share, this fileserver is a windows based machine. If I copy the profile to my local machine the profile works correctly and I am able to open emails and view the contents. It is only when my profile is on the network that I cannot view the contents of the emails. I ran thunderbird in safe mode and this does not resolve the situation. I have tried to repair the folders but this did not work. I deleted the .msf files but this also did not work. I ran the thunderbird debugger and then tried to access an email, the debugger stopped on the follwing exception: NS_ERROR_XPC_BAD_CONVERT_JS: Could not convert JavaScript argument arg 0 [nsITreeView.setTree]. What could be the problem with my emails?

Hello, I am new to this forum, from GDR.

Cannot delete a folder under my Local Folder. I have deleted it several times, and deleted the trash also, but no matter how many times I delete the folder, and restart Thunderbird, it still comes back. Sometimes there is two of the same folder that comes back.

If anyone one can point me to a solution, that would make me happy!!!

After installing latest Thunderbird, I attempted to set up to shadow the existing ATT account which is currently monitored via IMAP on both the web site and my iPhone (in hopes of replacing the web site). The automatic setup option ONLY showed the old POP account which I used years ago on the same email address ([edited] @att.net), so I went to manual configuration, where the default was POP but a dropdown list allowed me to select IMAP. The first attempt was no good, so I checked the settings for Mail on my iPhone (the ATT web site did not display any configuration at all). The hostname was shown as imap.mail.att.net, port 993, security was SSL (I selected SSL/TLS), the auth method was password, and my username was my email address. on the outgoing server, the iPhone had smtp.mail.att.net, port 465, which I copied, SSL/TLS, password, and my email address as username. the Re-test button also found those same settings (green message box).

But the Done button, after a short delay, replied "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password." in a yellow message box.

I cannot get any further than this, and have no idea where to turn. Both the iPhone and the web site on Windows 10 still work, with the same password (which I copied for the mail signin, so I assume that is the password which was submitted to the servers, since there was no place to enter any other passwords.

This is Sheila Herman and my email address is: swherman@twc.com. Now, there are two sections (top and bottom) to my email and the top section is gibberish. I need a Thunderbird email address so that I can send a copy of that gibberish page. I did reply to Matt's email with an attachment before I realized that his email address does not accept reply. When the recipient opens my email that page will show up and I want to remove the top section. Can anyone help me solve this problem? Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you. Best regards. Just lately, my gmail sent emails are going into trash folder and not being stored in the sent mail folder. In account settings, under Copies & Folders, I have the box checked for to "Place a copy in" and have tried both "Sent" folder and Other "Sent Mail". But the sent messages are not staying store in either of those files.
