I recently switched from Chrome to Firefox. Now when I try to login to a platform, my verification codes to my phone are coming through too slow. What is causing the delay?

I'm trying to setup 2fa on my account. It requires sending a code to my email which I then use to verify. These codes consistently are sent outside of the time window and as a result expired. I've added accounts@firefox.com to my contacts, and I've tried this on firefox desktop and firefox mobile on an iphone, and both produce the same results.

I'm on a gmail account and gmail flags these emails as suspicious despite being added as a contact, which likely means they are poorly formatted. Despite this flag, they are still sent to my inbox when they finally arrive.

This is incredibly frustrating as this is a service provided by basically every company and yet I have never seen it perform this poorly as it has with firefox.

I have a fingerprint scanner and a slot for a security key, but I have never used a security key, either in the slot or a USB plugin.

When I try to go to Gmail, I enter my gmail address, and then Firefox pops up a screen wanting me to insert my security key, and there are no buttons to change how I verify my identity.

I've hunted all around for what setting in Firefox is causing it, but no luck so far. Ideas?

I was trying to sign in to siriusxm.com. A box came up that said "Please insert your security key", with a diagram that looks like a flash drive. It said the request came from FireFox Mozilla Corp.

Is this one flashdrive key that will work for everything Firefox Mozilla Corp wants to guard, or it is something required by SiriusXM? I've never heard of it, but have seen it pop up for two or three things in the last week. I don't know how to satisfy the requirement. I looked though the topics on FireFox help page, and nothing mentions it that I can find.

I tried to sign into my account, but then it sends a code to my email which i go into but didn't get and have waited for an hour but still nothing. Has this happened to anybody?

Hello, I have tried everything...filters, added contact, blocked senders but I'm still not receiving any email from Firefox. I need my verification numbers to continue to sign into my account. thanks in advance for helping, Scott

'Gmail continues to require 2-step verification when I sign into one of my gmail accounts. I cannot seem to turn this off, even though I've turned off 2-Step verification on my Google account. Is Firefox part of this situation?

I didn't save the code properly on my first attempt to save the verification code so I have to start over. How do I disable the first one? I'm on a Mac Book and a iPhone 16

When I want to login with my Firefox account it asks me for a code as 2 factor but I can't remember that I ever signed up for 2 -factor . I have 2 apps fro 2 factor: google and Microsoft but neither has Mozilla identification in it. I would like to sign up for 2 factor but it looks like someone already did that for me. What now?

Hi there, I am trying to get firefox to stop allowing outlook to try and get my fingerprint or face ID as my Macbook Pro 2014 doesn't have these features. I am running macOS Big Sur (as this is the only one that still works decent). The Open Web Autentification Panel pop up says "Touch your secuity key to continue with login.microsoft.com". Thank you for any help you might provide!

TWO STEP VERIFICATION AUTOMATICALLY FORCED ON ONE OF MY COMPUTERS

AND FIREFOX DOES NOT "REMEMBER" WHEN SIGNED IN EVEN THOUGH CHECKED AT SIGNIN

WHEN I VIEW MY SETTINGS,,,,TWO STEP COMES BACK AS DISABLED.....BUT THATS INACCURATE ?? HOW CAN I DISABLE THE FORCED TWOSTEM FEATURE ON THIS SINGLE COMPUTER ??

Several years ago I created an account for Firefox Sync. Meanwhile I changed my mail address, the old one, with which I registered, has been deleted as I just realized. So I can no longer access the code to login on new devices. What am I supposed to do now?

This is rather annoying. Firefox will disconnect/logout my account rather frequently. But the actual issue is... when I go to log back into the account. The login process will send me an e-mail with a code.

And I have 2FA disabled, but I still have to go through the 2FA process.

How do I effectively TURN THIS OFF.

(I do not store passwords in Firefox...I only store a few convenient shortcuts in the bookmark bar)

I use this feature so I have the same shortcuts in my bookmarks bar across multiple computers.

After the last Firefox update, I am not able to sign in to Hotmail (or possibly Microsoft account in general). Firefox is asking for "Face, fingerprint, PIN or security key" - but it has never asked to create any of these. Apparently, it is impossible to sign in with a password. And this request seems to originate from Firefox, not from Microsoft - and I am able to sign in to Hotmail with other browsers. How can I disable this, so I can use Hotmail in Firefox?

I enabled two-step authentication on my Firefox Account by clicking on "Add". Everything went OK. (It was the first time I enabled it. I've been negligent.) The "name" (email) on the token generated by my 2FA App was the primary email of my Firefox Account.

Then I clicked on "Change", and followed through the same steps as when 2FA was "Added". Now, the "name" on the generated token was neither the primary or the secondary email of my Firefox Account ! The name on the token was the email I used as the primary email of my Firefox account back in 2020 ! Despite the wrong name (email), the 2FA code worked fine for signing in. How and why does this happen? What is the intended purpose of the "Change" option?

I fixed the name on the token by Disabling then Adding 2FA again.

A Curiosity?: When I try to sign into Firefox account, 2 emails are offered by Firefox - the current primary email for the account, and the previous primary email for the account. The second email IS in Logins, but not for accounts.firefox.com. The 2nd email is rejected if it is tried to be used. Where is Firefox getting the previous account email from?
