Hello,

When I open Firefox, it seems like it does not does anything, but then it starts playing a music I was hearing in youtube earlier (like it seems to me that the window is opened somewhere outside of my screen??

If I click a second time in Firefox, then it opens a normal window in my screen as usual, but the other one keeps playing in the back.

I've tried changing screen resolutions, checked that no other monitors were detected, restarted computer,

Not sure what to do next!

Installed 127.0 (20240606181944) from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_Leap_15.5/ and since then I've been unable to:

• Close a window by closing the last tab (the last tab X does nothing)
• The toolbar Account icon has nothing under it, have to go via Settings to manually sync and manage account

I installed Firefox on a Macbook Pro with Apple Silicon, M3. The installation was from the Firefox site, I downloaded the dmg and then dragged into Applications.

I find that playback of media stutters, and is choppy--not sure of a better way to explain it. E.g., YouTube videos and the Bandcamp player have "stuttered sound". Opening another site in another tab can make this effect worse. Likewise, trying to run Google Meet in a browser window causes basically everything on the computer to become very slow.

This still happens even if I go to "about:profiles" and then "restart with add-ons disabled".

But if I switch to another browser, Safari or Chrome, then I don't have the issue. e.g. I can play YouTube in the background fine even when running some compute intensive task.

I have also tried turning on/off "performance settings" and the "use hardware acceleration" checkbox underneath it -- neither of those seem to have any effect.

Activity Monitor showed that at most Firefox was using ~4 GB of memory of a total 48 GB, and the memory pressure indicator seems to be quite low.

I have run Firefox on other systems (e.g. System76, older Macbook Pro) with multiple windows open each having 20-30 tabs and never had an issue like this.

It really seems like it has something to do with how Firefox is interacting with the M3? Happy to learn I'm wrong. And happy to provide more details about the hardware or my settings if it would help.

I'm using openSUSE Tumbleweed and KDE Plasma. Ever since I updated to Plasma 6.1, Firefox crashes constantly when using Wayland. I'm not having this problem if I'm using X11. Crash reports are sent after every crash so I'm sure someone can reference these. When starting Firefox from a console, I got this message after a crash: "[GFX1-]: Wayland protocol error: wp_linux_drm_syncobj_surface_v1#67: error 5: explicit sync is used, but no release point is set"

Will this get fixed with the next Firefox update? Currently using 127.0.

as stated in the title, my HDD failed the other day and on recovery, my Thunderbird seems to have failed too.

I know (sort of) that it is all driven by the Profile.ini file.

But everytime I relaunch TB (even after what I think is an uninstall and a reinstall) I am getting : "Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."

I would be happy enough to have a blank TB load up and I would reconfigure my various email accounts. but I cannot seem to do even that.

I know there is a trick to getting to a Thunderbird configurator....but I have forgotten what it is.

Where does TB "look" when it starts up? how would I control that?

Hello everyone!!

I've been experiencing a rather "unusual" issue: My Firefox up until version 116.0b8 worked perfectly fine; however, after any updates to versions beyond that, it stopped working.

I've tried the final versions and the betas, but nothing works. I attempted reinstallation and everything else, but I couldn't solve the mystery and remain stuck on version 116.0 beta 8.

What's happening? Every time I try to load a page on any version above 116.0, it either doesn't open or keeps loading in a loop. Yet, if I use another browser or revert to version 116, everything works correctly. This issue does not occurs in others machines.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

I am running Mac Big Sur, 11.7.10. When I am in Firefox version 127.0.2 and I go into any Google search, the tab crashes. It works in private browsing mode and also in other browsers but not in non-private browsing in Firefox. I have tried disabling extensions, add ons, etc. Nothing seems to help. This started happening a few weeks ago with any YouTube page also. How can I fix this? If I can't I will stop using Firefox as I cannot function like this. Please advise!

I've been using Firefox for about six months. I'm a MacBook user with the most recent version of Sonoma installed. After a month or so of using Firefox it starts crashing and freezing. Sometimes I can't restart it for several minutes. Whenever this happens, I refresh it. I've refreshed it about twice. I've re-installed it twice too, but it keeps happening. Most settings are default, but I wanted to include the settings in case this could be the problem: - I've turned off Firefox home content - I've turned off all passwords and autofill features - Never Remember History - Do Not Track and Tell Websites not to share/sell my data are turned on - I left the standard-level security settings as is

I have one extension installed.

The only other browser I have installed is Safari and I am not having these issues. I should add that I don't receive any error messages when this happens, it just freezes. The most recent issue is that I was clicking on buttons on a website and it wasn't working, but when I started using the Safari browser (which also set to private mode) it worked fine.

When it works I love Firefox and would like to keep using it. I am wondering if there is anything I can do to fix this.

Error message:

"Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <ec2-54-219-72-248.us-west-1.compute.amazonaws.com[54.219.72.248]>: Client host rejected: NO THANKS. Please check the message recipient "patrick.gilroy@harmonydesigninc.com" and try again"

Occurs regardless of recipient, whether replying to an incoming email, or composing a new email.

How can I resolve issues with video streams from Facebook Workplace?

This issue doesn't happen in Chrome. When I stream video in Facebook Workplace, the video stops frequently and becomes poor quality at times. I have recommended performance settings enabled, using hardware acceleration.

Is there a way to stop initial pop ups when opening FireFox? They slow productivity! I don't need to be reminded that I have new emails when I am already in Thunderbird.

I know this problem has been discussed extensively, but I can't fix it even after reading the previous posts.

I have an institutional email address that uses outlook.office365 server and mandatory two factor autentication. I had my Thunderbird setup with this, which suddenly stopped working one day on my office PC. I updated Thunderbird to the newest version, but the issue pertains. Currently I'm running Thunderbird 115.12.2. on a Windows 10 machine.

When I try to fetch my emails from this server, a popup window appears that asks for my institutional login credentials. When I enter them, a second window appears, asking for the two factor autentication. However, this window seems to be corrupt, as it does not contain any information, and and it's impossible to type in verification code, as there's no input area at all (see the first picture - note that I'm using a localized version of Thunderbird).

When I click on Privacy and cookies in the right bottom corner, then two lines appear (although without any labels), where I can type in my verification code (I guess that it is the second line, because it shows dots in place of the typed characters, as for passwords). A screenshot of this window can be seen in the second picture.

However, after typing the correct code and clicking on the grey button, the first window reappears, this time with my email address that keeps flashing forever and nothing happens. It does not even matter if I type in the right verification number or just anything, it produces the same behaviour. As a result, I can't log in to my mailbox, which is operational, because I can log in there through the web interface of outlook, and also from my laptop using Thunderbird 78.14.0. I also made sure that the server name and authentication methods are correct (outlook.office365.com, port 993, SSL/TLS, OAuth2).

Do you have any suggestion how to solve this issue?

David, here are two screen shots (ss) to clarify my issue with email and a third regarding another issue (see below).

Number one ss shows what I see when I go to Thunderbird. I am allowed to delete if I wish by first marking the email and then clicking delete. If, however, I wish to view the message, Number two ss appears. I cannot delete the message without going back to Number one ss as that option has now disappeared. This was no problem on my old computer.

The other issue is related to the above. I have over 250 emails without being able to access them (see Number three ss). On the left upper side is the number of emails I have, but only six old emails appear, something that is confirmed in the upper right frame. No matter what I do, I cannot access them.

Updated Thunderbird to 117.12.2 on the 25 June 2024. Since then I am not receiving emails on my computer. I have actually sent some emails but they don't save into the sent folder and I have had a "Add security exception" warning occured when sending.

So problem is not getting new emails since the latest update was loaded. Thanks Neil

Cannot use the hours dropdown on Calendar Widget in Mozilla, when I click on the hours, the dropdown appears for half a second and then dissapears, so I cannot use it. Works fine with Edge and Chromium. OS Ubuntu 24.04. Tried private mode and disabling add-ons - only one I have is UBlock. When inspecting the console does not show any errors.

All morning I had been receiving and sending emails without issue. Then at approx 12:41 PM EST Thunderbird stopped working. I can send and receive emails through AOL to AOL but they do not show up in Thunderbird. I did not have any other computer issues and did not change any settings. Verizon told me it was an AOL issue, but I was able to successfully send and receive messages with AOL. AOL tried to fix it but ultimately said it was a Thunderbird issue. In the last 6 or 7 weeks I have had issues with Thunderbird. What is going on? Very Very Frustrating!!!

I can send emails but when try to receive emails I get Login to server inbound.att.net with username topgun30@sbcglobal.net failed.

I installed the new version of Thunderbird, and it's strange. I can receive emails and send emails, but I'm getting an error message at the bottom right corner of my screen:

Could not connect to the mail server (and then it names my server name) The connection was refused

What do I gotta do to make this go away?

Ever since the last update of Thunderbird, my Junk and Trash folders are empty. When I mark a message as Junk or throw something in the Trash, the messages simply disappear. I have no way of checking the Junk mailbox for messages that might be there in error. I am also unsure whether my Trash messages are being deleted permanently, or whether they are in a hidden mailbox somewhere. Please help if you can!
