After installing firefox the Favorites on google home page was lost and I desparately need those web site locations as they are critical for me, how do I get them back and don't say go to www.google.com/bookmarks as that does not connect me to anything?

I was not warned that web sites stored on my Favorites list on the previous start up web page which was Google would be lost when Firefox was installed. These web sites have been collected over many years and I desperately need those. I am furious about this mess. I want to go back to my previous home page with all history intact and forget about Firefox. Can I and if so how do I do it.

Are you sure you are looking at the Google page?? In Firefox 4.0 the default homepage / Start Page in Firefox was changed to about:home which looks a lot like the former www.google.com/firefox homepage.

One of us is not understanding the problem, which is probably me. Before I installed Firefox my homepage was Google. It had a Favorites list where websites were stored. When Firefox was installed, the Favorites on the tool bar disappeared and of course, there went those stored websites. How do I restore my previous home page and most important, those stored websites?

First off, both Google and Firefox don't use the term "favourites", they call them bookmarks. Your Google Bookmarks are stored at Google, not in Firefox which has its' own Bookmarks storage system built into Firefox.

This is what used to be the Firefox homepage, in Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions.
