why can't i open certain websites and say change to compatavility view

trying to log into: https://www.53.com/wps/portal/wmlogin

get message: Note: Users running Internet Explorer 8.0 must add 53.com to their compatibility view settings. To access the settings, go to tools, click on the compatibility view settings link, add 53.com, and click close. Once all steps are complete, you will have access to logon to Fifth Third Wholesale Connect. Please search the Microsoft's support website for more details (Article ID: 956197).

Im not really sure what your question is about. To me it seems like you are talking about internet explorer and your question is about that. We are a support forum for mozilla firefox only, most of use that answer questions are clueless about most features in firefox.

I can't open any of above links in Firefox--when i called Lender, they have said it's a compatability issue with FFox and can ONLY open in Explorer. I don't understand why FFox doesn't correct this???
