How do I prevent certain search subjects from showing up when I begin to type a few letters in the search box?

I'm computer illiterate. I've been searching for someone "John Doe" now when I type say a "Jo" or "J" for say "joke" into the search box immediately below the box will appear - "John Doe, John H. Doe, John Horatio Doe, John Doe of Ada OK, etc. I would like to delete these searches so that when I type "jo" in the search box the usual "jogos, jordan or joke or whatever" will appear will appear below the search box window.

Are that search terms that you have used yourself or are that search suggestions offered by Google?

See:


  • Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
  • Highlight an entry in the drop down list
  • Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

Thanks, but it did not work. They are search terms that I have used.

You should be able to remove them if you highlight an entry and press the Delete key.

If that doesn't work then try to remove the saved form data via Clear Recent History
