I have 3.0.6 and want to upgrade. Cannot do it. Message says: "operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items", What does that mean and how can I get upgrade to my 3.0.6 version?

I have been trying to upgrade from my old Firefox 3.0.6 version, but I always get the same message. I'm on Mac OS X version 10.5.8. f I can't upgrade, I'll have to switch browser -- and I really love Firefox. Please help

  • Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
  • Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install.
  • Install the new version that you have downloaded.

Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.
