Can't discourage Firefox from redirecting through proxy site
Each time I try to visit websites that I have previously visited through a particular proxy (a library subscription service for research articles, etc.) Firefox redirects me through that proxy. For example, when I try to visit: http://pubs.aeaweb.org/doi/pdfplus/10.1257/mac.3.2.246 in Firefox I get redirected to: https://login.lib.umd.edu/proxy-um-wayf/WAYF?shire=https%3a%2f%2flogin.proxy-um.researchport.umd.edu%2fShibboleth.sso%2fSAML%2fPOST&target=ezp.2aHR0cDovL3d3dy5hZWF3ZWIub3JnL2F0eXBvbi5waHA.cmV0dXJuX3RvPS9kb2kvcGRmcGx1cy8xMC4xMjU3L21hYy4zLjIuMjQ2JmV0b2M9MQ--&time=1301419675&providerId=https%3a%2f%2flibraries.umd.edu%2fproxy-um%2fsp This does not happen in other browsers, and I'd like Firefox not to do it either. I have turned off proxy (this did not make a difference): Tools --> Options --> Network --> Settings --> No Proxy
