HI, Thunderbird for Mac no longer allows me to see emails more than 4 months old. I have an AOL account and when I use the (lousy) AOL app I can see email going back at least a decade, so I know they are there.

This changed with a recent TBird update. I have checked online support, studied the different settings, and cannot find out how to set TBird to let me access all my email.

Can someone help me with this?

Thank you, James

that sounds like the rather bizarre limit yahoo have of only allowing 10.000 active mails in an IMAP account.

James, do you agree?

The AOL app and web browser access have no problem accessing decades of email which is way over 100,000 emails. So it is definitely not a limit by the AOL server.

For some reason TBird now has some kind of limit that won’t let me go back more than a few months. I don’t know if it’s a max number of email (mostly spam or ads), or a max number of months. Either way it’s a TBird issue as this changed with one of the updates.

I can find no setting or any info on this limiting.

Thank you

James

Thanks for the data point - but those don't count. Web isn't the same as a mail client. ANd AOL whitelists themselves.

There would not be any.

“ There would not be any”

So then why can’t I access all the email? What is preventing all from loading? They’re there. They used to be fully accessible until 6 months ago.

If it’s not a limmitation in TBird, where is the limitation?

Thanks

James

Is every folder of this AOL account hit by the same 4 month limit? If it is the Inbox folder only have you tried to 'repair' it? R-click on Inbox > Properties > Repair Folder.... Which size has this Inbox folder?
