Can you tell us more about what you tried to clear the history and if you got a error message?

Started with Menu and clear recent history. Looked everyplace there was information about history. Tried removing individual entries. Tried CCleaner. Ran Malwarebytes.

And when you press clear history in the menu it does not clear the history? do you get a error when you try that? do you get a screen where you can select what to delete?

Nothing response with any steps I take. Also, there are no error messages.

I have messed around with iFrefox all day with no progress. I am unable to clear history no matter which tools I attempt to use. No error messages. All the suggestions I tried had no affect except to add to the cluttered history.

I would appreciate it if someone had the answer.

Thanks for staying with me. I have tried all the steps for clearing history and trouble shooting and not seeing any progress on my Dell

XPS 8960; less than one year old. 

Oddly, I tried my older Dell Inspiron 3650, with Windows 10, and it works like it should.

In the past, I didn't use he browser to clear files, I always used CCleaner. They have recently updated the App and now it doesn't let me manage files and cookies like it used to. That's why I have no experience with using the tools in the browser. I will look into that next.

History Clear Recent History is broken. Running Windows 10/Vers 144.0. Tried everything. Please Fix and/or Advise ASAP.

Still can't clear history. Tried loading Microsoft PC Manager as a replacement for Ccleaner but it hasn't solved the problem.

So far, all the advice goes down the same path; history, clean recent history, manage history, etc..

Surely, there must be a way to fix Firefox. I would try to reload it but I don't want to lose years of bookmarks and passwords.

Enter about:support in the address bar and click the Verify integrity button in the Places database section. It should produce a log, paste it here for analysis.

When I did the Verify Integrity task, I thought things were looking up. Please find a solution for me. I am afraid that eventually the history will be so cluttered the PC may be useless.

Log says that places.sqlite will be replaced on next startup. Restarting the browser should help.

This is the latest Verify Integrity run and nothing has changed. From all the notes I've seen it looks like Firefox users are having some common problems. Isn't there a solution to fix places.squilte? In addition to the clutter, I have no control over cookies meaning I have to constantly enter passwords and look for the bookmark menu. I don't want to change browsers if I don't need to.

Clear history still not working. However, Bookmarks and cooky management are working properly. If I could get rid of the clutter, I would be happy.

In my last plea for help I asked how do I replace places.sqlite on next startup? OR is there another answer to fix this problem? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There was no response and it is too difficult for me to understand. Can I get advice on how to completely replace Firefox?
