In short, Mozilla does not operate a Firefox-branded search site. Instead, it contracts with other companies that want their search sites included in Firefox. You also can add a new one if you don't want to use Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, etc. See: Manage my default search engines in Firefox for Android.
