I am trying to recover an account but am unable get very far with passwords I am unable to remember any previous passwords so just seem to be going round in circles

If you still have Thunderbird installed and running, passwords are located under Hamburger (top right)/Settings/Search for passwords/Saved passwords/Use Windows passcode to access.
If you've deleted Thunderbird, you would need to contact your Email Provider for a password reset.
