I am having trouble getting individual autofill entries in Firefox on Linux Mint deleted. There are a few I have in some lists for a couple different websites that have some spelling mistakes. I have a few hundred of them that are regularly used and I really do not want to clear them all and start over.

Highlighting them and hitting the delete key is not working, and using shift-delete (that works of Mac) is also not working. I have been searching and cannot seem to find an answer to why this is not working for my with Linux. Can anyone provide a solution or point me in the right direction?

Note that you need to select/highlight an entry in the drop-down list with cursor Down key as hovering with the mouse doesn't work, also do not click the mouse or press the Enter key

  • press "Delete" or "Shift+Delete" to delete the highlighted entry

Try to rename/remove formhistory.sqlite in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed to remove all saved form data.

Thank you for the reply, using the arrow keys is not working. I should have mentioned that, sorry. It works properly on my wife's computer (she runs Windows), just not on my desktop Linux system that happens to be running an older version of the op system that I have not gotten around to upgrading yet, I just checked and it works on my laptop that runs a newer version of the same op system (never really had a need to try on the laptop before). That might have something to do with it. I can deal with the few spelling mistakes for now until other things on the op system start to crap out and doing a wipe and upgrade makes more sense.

Both the desktop and laptop are running the same version of Firefox. Thinking it just might be bugged, would you happen to know if I purge Firefox out and do a fresh Firefox install if there is a way to retain or port over the form autofill data. Would copying the formhistory.sqlite file and dumping it back into the new install work (I assume I would probably have to be in root mode to do that in Linux).

Can you confirm that this is about save form data and not something else ?

Can you attach a screenshot?
