Does it make any difference if you change your Firefox theme from "System" to "Light"? The steps for that can be found in this article: Use themes to change the look of Firefox -- skip to the "Managing themes" section.

I REALLY dislike the all black Dark Theme. jsher2000's solution, to find and install the THEME "Light A theme with a light color scheme" is a halfway solution: EVERYTHING is white background again, with a light gray no-image bar at the top, is better than all black. However, all the colorful top menu bars themes, any design at all, will force the ugly black background on users again. Give us an option for a white background (with optional colorful top bars) again!

I think any theme where the tab bar has light text on a dark background will trigger dark mode. Does that seem to be the problem?

I used the themes to go to light mode & that solved the problem. Then I got my pretty top bars back by using the the add-ons and themes tab. All is good now, problem solved and thanks to every one.

Hi - I am also having the issue where my Bookmarks are in dark mode depending on the theme. This happened after I updated Firefox today. I change my theme (that I have downloaded through the Personas Plus add on) and the bookmarks are in light mode again. What I am trying to do is have bookmarks be in light mode (like they were before the update) no matter what theme I pick. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
