</p><p>When I get the TLS handshake hangs - which sometimes seem to be a precursor to a crash - I notice that there is one particular thread consuming 15-50% of my CPU.

</p><p>I don't think that the problem is Windows-related as all versions of Firefox up to and including 62.03 work fine, just no releases from then onwards.
</p><p>One additional point that might be worth mentioning is that before they crash these later releases often seem to exhibit very slow/hanging TLS handshakes.
