sub humans that dev on firefox: it used to be with one button i can click and delete history. now i must read pages of instructions. i've tried every instruction on deleting your history and even choosing "always run in privacy mode" .. .still it gives me old site suggestions

I'VE PRESSED EVERY BUTTON.

I RIGHT CLICK IN THE silly HISTORY LIST AND CHOOSE DELETE ... AND IT DOES NOTHING.

nothing gets deleted, program just looks at me like nothing happened. no error message nothing.

WAS THIS PROGRAM MADE BY CHILDREN?? INCOMPETENT MONKEYS??

how is it in 1998 i could delete history in my ie6 browser no problem one click and now you "special-children" are on the scene and no combination of buttons can delete anything??

i've pressed details and time range "everything" a million sparkling times and it's still there. \

please jump off a bridge. please tell your family you don't do software it's gravely embarrassing for you.

i am uninstalling this garbage from my computer because of the EMOTIONAL distress you've caused me. \

say thank you i am alerting you to this INSANE problem

if it's my OS settings, why doesnt your program throw an error? seriously give up your software careers and do us all a favor.

edit to make pg13 language.

IT appears your garbage excuse of a software is integral to my desktop environment and i can't remove it!

SOLUTION: find your hidden folder and obliterate your so-called profile. it will have a folder with a hex string like z3fdsa98gf.d34

BETTER SOLUTION: have a clear history button that's simple to use and ACTUALLY WORKS

how do i know your developers will take my concern seriously if i remove the "lewed" language?

there are people asking about this problem from years ago. ONE IN 2017. ONE IN 2016.

HOW IS THIS AN ISSUE THAT I PRESS A BUTTON IN SOFTWARE AND IT LITERALLY DOES NOTHING?

and you claim it works properly?

this is big problem, how do i know you will internalize my criticism and actually FIX IT?

YOU TRAUMATIZE ME BY NOT DELETING SENSITIVE DATA BUT A LITTLE HARSH LANGUAGE IS TOO MUCH FOR YOU???

Contributors on this forum (except for the odd administrator) are not Mozilla employees, but volunteers, users just like you, trying to help other users in their spare time.

Being called 'scumbags' etc. does not exactly entice anybody to reply to your posts.

Common decency and a little kindness go a long way ......

my post is entirely directed at the human garbage that created this thing.

i appreciate the feedback links.

even the mate file browser gives a generic error when something doesn't happen. you never click a button and get no response whatsoever!

i'll re-post steps to reproduce elsewhere.

Note that you may not be able remove existing history when you are in PB mode.

You can create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

i do appreciate your suggestions. i'm just utterly incredulous at the situation. i can't delete the history in pb mode... ok why no warning? i wasnt always in pb mode the many times i tried.

So... standard usage for firefox is expect that the profile will break one day

... that it will break unnoticeably until that one time it becomes unresponsive to your commands and firefox behaves as though everything is normal?

so i need to operate with the idea that firefox profile will corrupt eventually and i need to use these remedial efforts that you list??

why firefox software cant assure integrity of the profile? if the profile is a vector for malware, isn't that all the more reason to make it ironclad?

is this literally how you operate "it's gonna break one day so let me brush up my profile-saving skills!" ?

it's like when you design a user interface and the program itself, you hold both sides of the equation (barring some kind of hardware inconsistency)

so a user should never be able to click on one of your buttons and not receive a response from the software. your user interface knows what the intent was. it knows a button was pressed. how is this not getting to the program itself? and when it doesnt, why doesn't the interface itself complain to me? or offer guidance "hey we see you're trying to delete history but you can't in pb mode because ...[reasons]"? why?

just empty button presses to drive me nuts! ok DONE!
