Firefox crashes
I have got an oldish (7+ years) PC that still runs Windows XP. I have had no problems with Firefox up until a few days ago. When I can get it to start up, its fine. Problem is getting it to start. I have double clicked the icon on desktop as usual, clicked on the link in Start Up menu, and while sometimes it works, more often than not it won't. I have opened the Task Manager and in 'Processes' it will have listed 'firefox.exe', so looks like something should be happening, but it isn't. I have tried deleting the Mozilla Firefox file from Program Files and re installing, but that doesn't seem to have made much difference either. Any ideas welcomed! Thanks
Simon

Thanks to both of you. I can't post the last 3 crashes, as when I looked at the bp files it says the last crash was in July. The problem is its not crashing as such, but won't start. However, since I posted the question and re installed Firefox (again), it has been working perfectly. If it goes up the creek again, I'll try starting it in safe mode. Thanks again

Please submit the bp- file as instructed (only need last 3) : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-asking-support
Could you try starting Firefox in its Safe Mode? In Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.
If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox. (You would need to right-click > End Process on firefox.exe in the Windows Task Manager it's it's hung.)
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
and OK the restart.
Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).
Any improvement?
