Just to make sure I can help, can you clarify if you are asking about Firefox Sync or another website.
I would recommend, by default to clear the cache of both browsers, when changing a password, you have to request an un-cached page to login successfully, though it is 'instantaneous' different operating systems handle cache a little differently.
