How do I save passwords in thunderbird to be able to read mail from google or other platforms.
I use gmail.com and a private company (Quantum Internet -- qis.net) for my eMail. How do I set and reset my passwords in Thunderbird so I can send and receive my mail through Thunderbird.

Not sure what exactly you're asking for and what your problem is in the first place.
You posted a link to a Gmail support article with instruction on how to set up a Gmail POP account, as well as troubleshooting steps if it doesn't work.
If you follow the instructions and troubleshooting steps it will work.
You didn't tell what you did and what actually happened though.
