Thunderbird randomly removes email from folders

I just discovered that one of may subfolders to the Input folder, that had abt 10 emails yesterday, now all but 2 are gone! It seems that when there has been no activity for say 1 week, Thunderbird find these folders not useful and removes most of the emails in them. This has happened too many times now and it is not that I'm emailing just for fun..... If this cannot be fixed, then I will get back to Outlook. Thanks for any support that will solve this nuisance. This is of high importance since Thunderbird insist on removing email that are important to me. But it keeps and never deletes those that are mere advertising and such nonsense.

Hello, the reply was a level of arrogance I've never before encountered. Perhaps you did not realize that I'm not a developer of Thunderbird? If I were, I could have solved it myself and would not have needed the support. Sending me hundreds of what-if solutions... LOL. Well, your reply was the final piece that makes me reactivate Outlook. Having to live a software that randomly removes emails, well only an idiot would do that.
