I think this started in 45.2.0 sometime in the last week or two, but the only way I can navigate to a new folder is to open the entire folder in a new tab or right click, properties and repair the folder.

This was an issue for a few weeks up to a day after posting the question in this forum. Full functionality has returned. To the best of my knowledge there were no updates to Windows or Tbird. I don't know if there were any updates to McAfee.

McAfee Total Protection 14.0 R10 and associated applications. Gmail is the primary email provider, but I also have an account at agentsphere.net. Both had the same issue Both are POP accounts in Tbird This has been an issue with Comcast (current) and Fairpoint DSL (most of the year.

If this means the issue is closed, so be it. But if there is a clue as to what was going on, I'd sure like to know.

Oh I think McAfee will have been the cause. We have a long rocky relationship with them. The are currently the No. 6 crash causer for Thunderbird.

See the link for some of the issues McAfee have caused. https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Testing:Antivirus_Related_Performance_Issues#McAfee
