Use standard computer selection methods.

Control+a will select all

Holding the control key while clicking on random items will select anything clicked on

Click one item, move up or down several items and hold the shift key while clicking the second item will select a block of items

Hold the control key and click a selected item to deselect that item

In addition to Airmails reply which is one method of deleting junk.

Manually: Right click on Junk folder Select 'Empty Junk' This willl delete all junk emails i Junk folder.

you can set up an auto delete on Junk folder. There are a couple of ways of doing this: 1. Tools > Account Settings > Junk Settings for mail account or Right click on mail account name in Fodler Pane and select 'Settings' then Junk Settings for the mail account

On the right side under 'Destination and Retention' Select 'Automatically delete Junk mail older than xx days' Allowing a couple of days so you can check Junk folder to make sure no good emails are in it. click on OK

OR 2 Set a retention specifically on that Junk folder right click on Junk Folder and select 'Properties' Click on 'Retention Policy' tab uncheck 'Use my account settings' This will give you more options, so you can select the most appropriate for you. click on OK

To remove all hidden 'marked as deleted' emails: right click on Junk folder and select 'Compact' Does not have to be done everytime you empty the Junk fodler, but you should do it on a regular basis.
