Firefox continues to try to connect but will not while other search engines will just fine.
For hours I have tried all the tips on the Mozilla site with no success. Firefox suddenly took forever to launch sites on my tool bar I use every day, then would no longer even launch a site typed into the address bar. Checked Alvira and it is not blocked. Reset everything. Google, AOL, IE all function fine. My work website is based off Firefox and I can't get to our intranet except on my cell phone. I have to get this fixed tonight for my business operation. No error messages, it just keeps spinning the connecting logo until it times out. I even rebooted my Verizon internet satellite.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;
Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.
Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

Is this the Reset you did: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings?
Could you compare the "before" and "after" using Firefox's reset feature: was it slow to connect before and can't connect at all after, or has it worked after the reset somewhat?
Do you notice any difference between your ability to connect to secure sites vs. regular sites at this time?
Does your Verizon service require any special browser settings? The Firefox Reset feature most likely would have removed those and returned your connection settings to factory defaults.
After Reset firefox, it was even slower to connect and often just timed out. Secure and public sites both have the same problem. The Verizon service does not require any browser settings. I've had to reboot the satellite in the past and FIrefox was fine along with all other browsers. Thank you for trying to help. Su
