I read nytimes.com daily. For the past week or two, some (but not all) images (photos) started displaying as solid black boxes in Firefox but displayed correctly when I tried with Internet Explorer. (I never use IE--this was just a test.) I'm not sure which images go black, but it appears to be mostly those organized as a slide show. I have two add-ons, Adblock plus and FlashGet. I tried disabling both and restarting Firefox: the photos were still blacked out. Besides, when Adblock blocks a photo, the empty space is white, not black.
