Hello,

I don't know what happened, but I cannot access my mails anymore, instead I see a "chat" view, with no mails to be found. I don't even understand how it happened or how I should call this view, but regardless, I cannot do anything.

I am scared of deleting/reinstalling Thunderbird, because I have a lot of decently useful mails saved and I am not sure what would happen to those.

It's in German, but I'll attach a screenshot of what I am seeing. I can't press any buttons, however, or rather, as I said, nothing happens, when I click on any field/button/word/...

Best wishes and regards!

- can you access menu bar? If not shown, press Alt key to see menu bar and then click Go>MailStartPage. Does that work?

I can access the menu bar just fine, however nothing happens when I try to press Alt or Ctrl or Cmd.

If I go to "Go", every field is greyed out and I can't click on "Go back to start page" (I hope I am in the right folder, but I checked online and it looks to be the field you are describing, my Thunderbird doesn't change languages anymore).

I guess I need to reinstall, I just want to make sure I don't lose any of my mails
