Hello! I am in a work environment and I am trying to determine if there is something in our security systems that is preventing Firefox from running properly. Once Firefox is installed, it works the rest of the day with no issue but almost daily the morning after, it will start to open then instantly crash. When I check the crash logs, it shows in most of them: Modules - Filename: umppc14210.dll Version: 6.28.14210.0 Debug Identifier: B9143DE260194C88AB48EFD6782C9EAF1 Debug File Name: umppc.pdb Signed By: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher

When using the dark theme from Firefox, Google searching seems to break completely as well as some pages will not load which may be related to this.

I have already tried uninstalling Firefox, deleting all of the folders, then reinstalling with a freshly downloaded installer (Even tried the beta one) with same results. It seems potentially MAYBE related to how long ago I closed Firefox before I shut down (Like Firefox is trying to save something to a secure location and times out, then it will work but if it hasn't timed out, then it crashes... or this is my guess)

The Signature seems to change randomly for the crash between crashes. I really am tired of constantly reinstalling Firefox but I do not want to use Chrome or Edge unless websites require it.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 Submitted crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

I was not sure which number would provide the best context. I have only been submitting some of them and usually I end up submitting in batches since I don't have the most time to spend at work troubleshooting instead of working... usually people are asking for help before I even sit down for the day.

You're right, the recent ones are the beta version in the crash report... Odd, I was pretty sure I uninstalled the beta version completely.

Additionally, when I pull up the about Firefox, it shows 94.0.2 and shows it's Release. They all seem to be: EXCEPTION_PRIV_INSTRUCTION or EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ

I may need to check with our security specialist to find out, last time I spoke to him (In regards to the crashing), he stated Firefox is uncommon in our environment so there are no direct restrictions on Firefox

There are some crashes I listed from before it switch to beta:

I rebuilt my profile a short while back which might be the errors in the older logs. I spoke with my security specialist and he had me reinstall CrowdStrike Falcon (despite seeing no errors) so we will have to see if it works tomorrow morning.

I uninstalled and reinstalled CrowdStrike with my security team and it did not crash the following day nor after coming back from the holidays. Hopefully that is the end of this. :)
