I tag EVERYTHING, then I work on one tag subject at a time (billing, Work In Progress, Sales Demo Requests, etc. - I can no longer do View>sortby>tags view>sortby Group - this is extremely frustrating since the new update. I need to sort by tags & group them, in order leave the untagged at the top so I can see what I have left to tag.

If I use the tag feature now it will let me select one or more that I have already tagged but completely leaves out the option to see my UNtagged messages. Am I missing something? I know everyone hates change, this new version went way too far in my opinion with the number of "improvements" thrown at the user at once.

I need the sortby group on tags back PLEASE!!!!!! or tell me how to do it another way if I have to.

IMO Its going to be overwhelming for the average user and I'm much savvier than most for my age and we work in software development too and have to release new versions to our clients. So I get it. But man, this new version is slowing down my work flow - Shift M was my friend to move emails into client folders - yes, I found its now CTR SHFT M to move but I set it back to Shift M until they take that away.

Not a fan at all and I work on MAC and PC's I miss having the number of read and unread total in the lower right - turning on the read and unread only works on the folder level and quite frankly it gives me ptsd to see all the total number of emails I've handled in 25 years in each folder. I just need to see the inbox.

I really hope the tag /sort group feature comes back - PLEASE

I use 50+ Add-Ons on Firefox. I would like see all the Add-Ons I gave permission to work in Private Mode, all in one page. Is there a Settings page that shows all Add-On permissions to shown in one place?

So far I've been clicking on each Add-On, one by one. It becomes very tedious to manage them when you have no other choice.

Several attributes disappeared with latest updates introducing supernova. I've found the CSS code #toolbar-menubar{order:-1 !important;} added to userChrome.css works to move the Menu bar to the top. I've tried several examples of CSS code to set tree rows eg Inbox to display alternate rows background white/grey, however, none seem to work. Any suggestions? Thank-you.

So, I upgraded to SuperNova and my spell checker no longer works. I removed and re-installed the dictionary extension, someplace I think it shows as installed and active. BUT it does not show my spelling mistakes as I compose an email, and when I go to send the spellchecker popup comes up with blanks. Any thoughts on what/how I can fix this. I "really" need a spellchecker.

In the previous version I was using, when a new email arrives and is automatically moved to a custom local folder, that custom local folder name was appearing in bold letters and BLUE color.

The folder I am referring to is the "mother" folder and inside that "mother" folder there are sub-folders. The "mother" folder was coloring in blue when a new email arrived.

Now with version 115 this feature is lost, the custom folder name that receives a new email now appears in bold letters BUT BLACK colour.

I have something like 1234 custom local folders, some folders contain emails that I have read but I am keeping that email as unread because it requires an action (like a "to do" email). These folder in the previous version of thunderbird were appearing in black color while new emails (that I actually never read) that were sent to a custom folder, that custom folder was apperaing in blue.

This color differentiation was helping me by immediately recognizing folder that contains new emails from foldars that contains not-new-but-unread emails

How can I do to make a custom folder appearing of bold letters and blue color when it receive a new email?

[Thunderbird 115 on Ubuntu 20.04, KDE/Plasma 5.18]

In my previous version of Thunderbird (possibly 70+?) I had a menu bar (with "File", "Edit", etc) that also included some icons with functions such as "write", "search", and similar, that I used frequently. To be honest I don't remember if this could be achieved simply by "Customize..." or with some add-on.

Now in TB 115 there's a separate menu bar and a "unified" toolbar where those icons have been moved. Is there any way to move those icons & functions back to the menu bar, and remove the unified toolbar? Or vice versa: move the menu in the unified toolbar. It's a pity with the waste of vertical space.

I know that the unified toolbar has a sort of menu ("hamburger menu", the three horizontal bars, on the right), but this menu is not as convenient as the menu bar, which for example has an "Edit" menu, which I don't find in the "hamburger menu".

I run several of my Firefox windows in compact sizes, and there are just so many little icons taking up space in the address typing field (what do you call it? It isn't the address bar).

I do not use the Tracker shield. I do not use Padlock "Verified". I do not use "You have granted this website blah blah permissions". I do not use Open in Picture-in-Picture, or the bookmark buttons.

These features, when I need them, I would rather access from somewhere else, like from a menu or with a shortcut key combo.

See the image of how cramped it is with the imo superfluous buttons that for some reason decided they have to live in the text box, preventing me from seeing what I type.

I recently downloaded Firefox on my android and at first there was a purple background that has switched to grey after a few days without me changing it. The theme still can be displayed in private mode but not in regular search.

Hello, I am trying to manage extensions in my organization. What would be the best way to block all extensions by default and allow only certain specific extensions?

I am following the Mac OS Extension Settings Policy and adding this to a configuration profile, but I am not sure how to manipulate it to suit my needs.

What would be the best way to go about this, and what would the plist file look like?

I want to make the bottom scroll bar specially to be appeared only on hover and not when scrolling or even make it 100% transparent? I really dont want the bottom scrollbar to interface

Many websites I use on a regular basis have become unusable on firefox which i have used for over a decade. I can't change my Flickr cover photo because the pop up window is too huge, can't view a complete google doc because the thing is enormous, etc. The issue is that I MUST have the ability to set text in firefox to larger and I do so via the view - zoom in and zoom text only options. I have to have this ability because I have a visual disability. I do not have this issue using chrome but I detest chrome and want to keep using firefox, but entire portions of windows are cut off when they open up and I can't access them by zooming out either. The only thing that changes is the text gets so small that it is totally unreadable. This is a HUGE problem for me. I will NOT change my default windows setting to try and fix a firefox issue because that then screws up my window sizes for games, programs etc for my other software that I also use daily. So I won't be changing what works for 20 programs via windows settings to make ONE browser work better. This is a firefox problem, and firefox needs to fix it. I have tried multiple solutions cited online and nothing is working. If firefox is trying to get rid of it's users with visual disabilities, this is the way to go. I received an email containing an invitation for a calendar event. I accidentally hit the option to not show this banner again which is not what I want, as I will no longer be able to formally accept or decline invitations. How do I get this back?

The good news: The UI of Thunderbird 115 is a nice improvement over its predecessor. The bad news: All my pre-Supernova CSS syntax in userChrome.css is broken. It would be very nice to have a handbook of CSS classes and syntax so that we could continue to be able to customize the new UI and at least get it back to the condition we had before the Supernova upgrade. I have found some good code online which has allowed me to change a few colors, but it would be nice to be able to do much more customization of this great open source software! Thanks. (For example, how can I change the colors on the compose window?)

Thunderbird recently updated from 102 to 115. Now when in games using full screen windowed mode, the new mail alert pops up over the game, where it never used to do that. If I'm in an exclusive full screen game, the alert causes the game to lose focus, which again, never happened in 102.

The calendar alerts sometimes steal focus in either full screen mode, but sometimes not. It seems entirely random. This is not new to 115, but it's still annoying. I can be in the same game, hear the notification and not lose focus. Other times, even in the same game, the notification steals the game's focus.

I checked the settings, they are the same as before. I prefer Thunderbird's notification over the system notification style, but it doesn't seem to obey the system's focus assist rules.

After much research here, I see how I can "Reply with Template" with Message Filters. I would like to forward specific messages and add a reply from a template or other method.

Is there a way to "Forward with Template? The only option I see to do this is to create a filter and add two separate actions. This means that the recipient receives two message.

Is this possible?

I have the portable version of Thunderbird, V115.2.3 (64-bit). I just updated it to this version. It looks pretty but the two top toolbars have changed position. Before the update I used to mostly just hit Get messages and Write. But now those buttons are tiny and on the very top level. I don't really use any of the buttons on the now lower level toolbar, so I have been trying for ages to swap them back but I can't find any control that lets me do this? Can anyone help please?
