Hello everyone. I make backups of folder "bookmarkbackups" in Firefox profile folder, so that when I have to make a restore after a data loss (for whatever reason), I can also restore my bookmarks. I'd like to be able to restore my extensions too, and to do this it would be enough to have a backup of the list of extensions I had installed before the trouble happened. However, if I backup the subfolder "extensions" of the profile folder, I would have a list of files the name of which looks like:

FirefoxColor@mozilla.com.xpi idcac-pub@guus.ninja.xpi uBlock0@raymondhill.net.xpi vpn@proton.ch.xpi {3d92ddc3-5581-453f-ad9f-d9ea864d1f9a}.xpi {531906d3-e22f-4a6c-a102-8057b88a1a63}.xpi

..so that in most cases I cannot guess the extension name from the file name. My purpose is to install manually the extensions in the new browser installation, once I have the list of the extensions. Moreover, in that folder you find all the extensions, both the ones which were active, and the ones which were inactive... But I'd like to have a list of the active ones so that I can re-install only that ones.

Does anyone know how can I get such a list, starting from the profile folder?

I had a ton of saved tabs and groupings of tabs. I closed what I thought was my only open Firefox window then downloaded and installed the most recent Windows update. When I rebooted, I did not realize I had left a Firefox window open with a single tab. That Firefox became my default and I lost all the tabs I had. Is there any way to get those tabs back? The tabs I had yesterday, 1/22/2026 are the ones I need.

I need a more permanent fix to the disappearing bookmarks issue when the file is in use by another entity. I have tried to fix it, read the instructions and when I start to apply the fix, the instructions disappear and now I have to depend on my faulty memory.

Hi I keep getting this error on Firefox. I did disable all my extensions prior to this image shown to see if it was an extension causing an issue to no avail. I also looked for an update for Firefox and saw it was up to date. I also attempted to refresh Firefox which was a successful refresh however the error persisted. After refreshing I fully uninstalled Firefox and then reinstalled however the issue persists.

This error is shown however if I refresh the page sometimes the page freezes as if it lost connection and sometimes it reloads as per normal with the video playable.

I have no problem with Yahoo in Chrome. No problem with the Yahoo email mobile app.

I am not a Chrome fan, but It is not unusual for me to have to use Chrome to avoid random website behavior issues with Firefox.

Dell installed a command update and immediately afterwards, Firefox would no longer open, either from the taskbar icon or from settings/apps. I just get a couple of seconds of the blue cycle icon and then nothing, no error message, just nothing. I did download/install repeatedly but I don't get beyond the download screen - as soon as it's 100% downloaded, that's it, no welcome window, nothing. Thanks

When using Firefox on a Mac, how can we set the Mozilla VPN to one specific country for one tab only? There are instructions for doing so, but it's only applicable to Firefox for Windows.

Several websites are not loading their content since yesterday. YouTube has a message "Try searching to get started" and even when I open a video, it won't play. X.com is not loading content in the pages. So far it's those two.

I have Firefox reinstalled, it is not syncing bookmarks, history. I tried to import booksmarks from edge but it could not find the file or said it does not have any bookmakrs on it which was not true.

Why am I seeing this message on windows 11 and not on my windows 10 machine. I am still using th internet on both machines on the same network but you tube on W11 is constantly having to be refreshed. BRAVE works fine.

I reinstalled Firefox on my laptop after it crashed. I also have Firefox on my iPhone. The profile there is up to date. How do I sync that profile to the laptop installation?
