My Address Book appears to be old and out of date. There's at least 10 years of emails in there somewhere. Random old emails are there, but what's visibile is not really useful here and now. How can I restore at least some degree of usefulness?

To Whom it concerns, It has been about 4-5 days since I can't receive my e-mail. I have e-mail you different times with errors coming up. When I open my mail since yesterday an error now says error with acct. cray9@oh.rr.com. Another error occurred with the POP3mail server. The mailbox closes. Then a box comes up Thunder Bird crash reporter then I can put why and then restart my e-mail. It does try to load my e-mail then stops. And now my password box doesn't come up to put my password in. Last it says connection to mail.twc.com was reset then once again the mailbox closes. Please help, I have been a customer with Thunder Bird for years. Thank you!!

I just had a support session and the tech was unable to solve the problem. We tried installing a new version of Thunderbird and importing the messages over from the default install and it just freezes up. He tried replacing account settings with the account settings from a previous version and that didn't work either. He suggested contacting Mozilla to see if there was a way to import messages from the frozen default to my new profile.

Thunderbird is not connecting with Xfinity Comcast for sending or receiving emails at gpenkala@comcast.net . This combination was working fine for decades. Last Friday (Jun 12) was the last email I received in Thunderbird. I can view current emails on the Xfinity website, but these are not being transferred to my Thunderbird account anymore, These are the error messages:

Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.comcast.net. Please check the password and verify the 'Authentication method' in 'Account Settings | Outgoing server (SMTP)'." Can you tell me what configurations I should be using within Thunderbird for Incoming and Outgoing Servers?

multiple copies of emails, usually old ones, cannot delete them, also cannot open new emails, often thunderbird freezes, message comes up that thunderbird not responding

Hello, I use Thunderbird to manage several email accounts, one on them is not active anymore but I still want to be able to access the emails stored in my thunderbird directory tree, so I keep it active. And the fact is that every day this account tries to access a remote server that does not exists anymore to retrieve email that can not be retrieve, and every day I am asked for a password that cannot work. But the fact is that I did deactivate all options to read remote emails for this account, so that behavior is odd and I am not able to find a way around it. Any idea what to do not to be bother anymore ?

I recently migrated all my LSU.edu emails over to Thunderbird. Of the nearly 30,000 messages that moved over into the Thunderbird Inbox, only 7179 are accessible (blue button), while the remaining 28,012 are listed in a greyed out button.

Please help me access these 28,000 messages.

I've been using Thunderbird for years but suddenly as of yesterday it's stopped receiving messages. First it told me my password was incorrect. Ever since then when I try to click "Get Messages," it simply has no response at all. Nothing happens. I went into my Thunderbird password settings, and upon seeing that the incoming-message password had for some reason reverted to an old, obsolete password, I corrected it and saved the correct one. I've checked several times and the passwords are correctly saved now. But this did not fix the problem. When I click "Get Messages," nothing happens. My Thunderbird is connected to my Earthlink account, which is working fine. When I go into Earthlink, I am able to send and receive messages as normal. So the problem is not with Earthlink but with Thunderbird.

I have TB 145.0 on a Mac.

When my trash gets pretty full, I empty the trash then restart TB just to have a fresh start. Been doing this for years. Well, I did it just now and when TB restarted I got a warning that said Thunderbird is an app I downloaded from the internet, do I trust it? First time that has happened.d I clicked on the button that said to go ahead and open it.

When TB opened, it wasn't aware of any of my email accounts. It's almost like I was opening it for the first time – except for 187 random old emails in an inbox.

Is there a way to recover from this? I had a lot of emails stored in inboxes and outboxes that would be disastrous for me to lose. They aren't there right now.

I am unable to send an email from Thunderbird to 2 hotmail accounts that I have been communicating with for several years. The issue has only recently started and I can send emails to them from another email account that I have on gmail and any other emails than these are fine from Thuderbird Below is the return message that I receive - can you help

Good morning. We have McAfee Ultimate with email scam protection. Our "att.net" email was hack 2 weeks ago. We have changed "att.net" passwords. We began to again receive emails. on 6/14/26 we began receiving this message when trying to down load emails - "unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox" We deleted emails found in the McAfee Alert mail box. We deleted the "att.net" email from McAfee and then reconnected it. we have gmail accounts and deleted trash. any thoughts for how to correct will be appreciated. jimw

I have a new laptop and installed Thunderbird. It shows lots of messages in all the folders, but will not show any messages in the message screen. It just continues to show the opening logo

I NEVER want to mark all my email as read. How can I disable that functionality? I look forward to being able to also get rid of shortcuts that do not require ctrl, alt, or shift.
