I just installed Firefox on my new PC and the set google homepage was coming up fine. A few days later the page comes up as blank white and loads as "Done"

I just installed Firefox on my new PC and the set google homepage was coming up fine. A few days later the page comes up as blank white and fully loads as "Done". That is what is strange a day or two later this started happening and always happens no matter what I set my homepage to or how I set it. I am running Windows 7 64-bit Professional. The issues is not replicated on my other installed browser IE 11. The only change MAY have been after I was prompted to update to the current version of Mozilla Firefox in between before the problem started happening and now. I currently run Firefox 44.0 after the update. This is also running on another Windows 7 64-bit home premium laptop and is not having the same issue - my google homepage always comes up. What is the best way to fix this as I have made sure than when Firefox Starts | "Show My Home page" is selected and the proper address is in the Home Page field as I had saved it before closing the browser?
