This past Friday morning, May 29, I tried to access www.healingwell.com which I have always been able to do. But this time Firefox gave me a red screen with message: "Firefox blocked this page because it might try to trick you into installing programs that harm your browsing experience, for example, by changing your homepage or showing extra ads on sites you visit." And same message again over the weekend. But yesterday, Monday June 1, I was able to access that website, and all seemed normal. Why did Firefox give me that message on Friday, but not yesterday or today?

I do not want a VPN the web browser that I didn't ask for or other features you think people need without asking.

Corporate and business users would not have a bar of this either.

Remove this from Firefox please in the next release.

In the meantime, tell users how to disable this VPN via the Settings and "about:config" so this never gets turned on.

Is there any documented way our I.T department can disable the ability to connect to or even see the Firefox VPN that is being rolled out via group policy or another settings method? Firefox is a great asset for our agency but we cannot have users having the ability to bypass our web filtering. If there's not an option currently, could we have the IP's or the servers that it runs off of so we can manually block it in our firewall?

Further to the malware, it references Windows OS but has seized her Mac. I powered off. Rebooted. Within about 15 seconds of opening Firefox the malware pops up and freezes the Mac. By the third time I was able "force quit" Firefox and the other applications function properly. I beleive I deleted Firefox but probably didn't get it all out. I reinstalled firefox and upon booting up Firefox the malware is still activated. Can you please assist with a fix?

I'm sending this from my phone. My desktop FF (Win 10) suddenly displayed a black wireless globe type icon called Prox-Media pinned to my taskbar. I can't find the app on my system, though, but the full path leads it to a firefox.exe file. Before my brain kicked in, I'd clicked on the icon right after noticing it, and Firefox came up with the attached error message displayed.

"Prox-Media" comes up nowhere in my searches - not as legit, not as a virus - just no results. Can you help?

I have a paid AVG account and I ran a deep scan but it found nothing.

I started getting a different login screen for yahoo and so I was on the lookout for the https:// that would ensure I'm at a real website. I noticed that I don't get any https:// on anything in my FF esr 140. Even if I enter it with the address, it disappears as soon as I click to open the website. I tried out Edge and the https:// is there. Is there some reason this is being removed in FF, as it is something reassuring and doesn't take up much space.

Some users are abandoning Firefox because of the difficulty of protecting against Firefox fingerprinting. Therefore, I strongly recommend adding an option in the settings that allows the digital fingerprints to be made random, or at least, if it is difficult, to make the fingerprints indistinguishable. seems that after Firefox 150.0.3 (20260511200624). I cant access locally deployed servers that are not secure. the Firefox forces https when hitting http://localhost. I've tried to disable the HTTPS setting altogether. Even in developer mode it still overwrites http to https.
