I am moving my Thunderbird (32 bit) data from an old Win 7 computer to Linux Mint on a new machine with Thunderbird 64 bit. I have followed all the advice to copy the old computer profile to the profile folder in Mint, but nothing appears in Thunderbird. My pop3 email server has 2-factor authentication; I can set this up and access or send new emails, but I can't import all my old email folders. The old Thunderbird is version 115.18.0 (32 bit) and says it is "up to date on esr update channel" The Mint Thunderbird is 140.0.6 esr (64 bit) and was recently installed with Mint.

As these versions are 32 bit and 64 bit respectively, I don't see how I can make them the same version, as recommended for transferring profiles.

How can I make this work?

I just started using Thunderbird about a month ago having switched from Gmail. I've tried to forward a few emails to my personal gmail account but they are not going through. Any suggestions.

Old win 10 computer with Thunderbird pop account. Want to move all saved e-mails from old computer to new computer. New computer (win 11) installed thunderbird as an IMAP account. Alternatively, if not practical, how to save old e-mail in readable format. Thanks

I did Edit - Find - Search Messages and then Edit - Find- Global Search and searched for messages. Now all the e-mails in my Inbox disappeared. What can I do? Thank you.

I live in Germany and use t-online for my email. I can receive emails but not send. I have tried to fix it myself but nothing I do has worked. I don't understand all the technical stuff, so this is maybe my problem. Can anyone help me? PLEASE

Maybe there is someone near me in Germany (Obertshausen) by Frankfurt that can Help. I speak German so this would not be a problem.

I have a Google Workspace account which has my company name as a suffix, ie. @chase-design.net NOT @gmail. com. When I try to add an account automatically using the company suffix, Thunderbird does not recognize it. Is there a set-up guide that shows me step by step how to manually configure that type of setup?

I don't wish to use the calendar that comes with Thunderbird, but instead continuing with my Macintosh iCal.

1) How do I switch off the Thunderbird calendar function? 2) How do I get the calendar invitations sent to me as an ICS file attachments, that I can open in Mac iCal. Just like in Airmail and in Microsoft Outlook.

I've been using Thunderbird for years but suddenly as of yesterday it's stopped receiving messages. First it told me my password was incorrect. Ever since then when I try to click "Get Messages," it simply has no response at all. Nothing happens. I went into my Thunderbird password settings, and upon seeing that the incoming-message password had for some reason reverted to an old, obsolete password, I corrected it and saved the correct one. I've checked several times and the passwords are correctly saved now. But this did not fix the problem. When I click "Get Messages," nothing happens. My Thunderbird is connected to my Earthlink account, which is working fine. When I go into Earthlink, I am able to send and receive messages as normal. So the problem is not with Earthlink but with Thunderbird.

After system complete reinstallation Ubuntu 24.04 it is not possible to send mails with SMTP Server. Receiving messages is possible!! Two fault Messages happen, I've two SMTP servers: 1. No connection to SMTP possible 2. Server timeout

And yes, I've checked nearly everything what's to find in the internet, reinstallation, change and check settings and passwords, together with the specialist from my provider. Also my provider is not able to find a mistake. As I've found out in the net, there are sometimes problems to connect to SMTP, but no solution found. Is there some security in the UBUNTU system, which blocks the SMTP connection or is this a bug from Thunderbird? Thanks in advance Andreas

A couple of months ago Thunderbird installed a new version (150.0.2) that made me enter a new identity. After I did that, I tried importing the e-mail folders from the earlier version (139.0), but totally without success. So I tried re-installing an older version, but this also, was no longer able to import the folders stored on my hard drive. What can I do????

In Thunderbird a password for an email account was deleted from the password list, but then how is a new password applied to that same mail account? I'm only getting error login messages with no apparent field, or opportunity to enter a new password. I'm concerned starting fresh and deleting the email account itself will delete all my saved emails associated with that account.

My ISP has made a change for "third-party" accesses to its e-mail (which still works fine on its own website e-mail access page). I need to check my Username, Password, SSL, Protocol, Incoming & Outgoing Server Ports. BUT I don't see on my Thunderbird page where to find these: it's my preferred way to do e-mail! Where are they??

I have used Apple Mail, GMail and Outlook; i am hoping that Thunderbird will achieve (relative) zero inbox.

My objective is to create an inbox that observes established rules/filters and directs my emails into the appropriate folders. I was hoping that Thunderbird would achieve this objectives but I have so far been unsuccessful.

I would be happy to screenshare with an appropriate technician in order to resolve this issue as its becoming increasingly frustrating.
