I have been using Firefox for many years now and it uses Google, but for the past week or so when I have typed in my search it automatically switches it to BING search. I have checked all my settings and programs but BING is not listed, so why the automatic change over, and how can I fix the problem?

FredMcD replied to my Bing problem with Firefox, but sadly despite trying several ways as soon as I click on add-on my page just goes blank.

Tools add-on same blank page, same with Firefox page click on the three lines scroll down to add on blank screen comes up.

When I googled this problem there were several videos that stated it was a virus, I have Malwarebytes premium so I have also contacted them for their assistance. Bing or any other of the sites listed SafeSearch etc. none are listed in my files list so nothing to delete.

Is it worth deleting Firefox and then next day download it fresh, or is the bad add-on just lurking ready to attach itself again.

Control key (ctrl) zooms window, can't copy, paste, etc. using the control key without the window zooming in, this does not happen using other browsers, it started about 1 week ago, possibly after the last firefix upgrade, windows 8

When I scroll down a page, it automatically goes back to the top. Not sure this is related strictly to Firefox.

Actually, it's been 10 times in the last 25 hours - and this is my work computer, I've only even been on it for maybe 8-9 of those hours.

This is absurd. Please tell me what to do.

Since I upgraded to Windows 8 (and almost immediately installed Firefox), Firefox has not auto-updated as it is supposed to. When I see that a new version is out and I check my version, it says that there is a new version available at your site (either mozilla.org or firefox.com, I can't remember) and then I have to manually update.

I have the latest version of Mozilla Firefox running on my Windows PC. Mozilla crashes randomly and crashed around 10-20 times last night when my mother was checking her email and Facebook. I went to the about: crashes page and here are the IDs of the reports. Any help would be highly appreciated.

I'd like to use Firefox to open Mailto links in Windows 8. I found this support article, but it isn't relevant to Windows 8: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-program-used-open-email-links?esab=a&as=aaq

When I open Control Panel --> Default Programs, and try to associate Mailto with Firefox, the only options it gives me are "Mail" (the Metro app I'm trying to ditch) and "Look for an app in the Store". No Firefox. How do I get Firefox to appear in the list of apps that can be associated with Mailto? Thanks very much for any help.

Actually, the question really is how do I get to the sidebar setting utility so that I can remove any item that I have inadvertently put into the sidebar.

Right now I have aol.com coming up in the sidebar, I know how to close it when it comes up, but I dont want the sidebar to even appear on the screen.

I have been able to import all bookmarks from Chrome but want them to appear as Firefox bookmarks and be immediately accessible (as they were before I migrated to chrome from Firefox) and on the bookmarks toolbar. I can't find a way of doing this.

After installing Windows 8 the texts in Firefox keep being with bugs. Tab titles, text in pages (specially in FB) have their characters changed. When I have to do some important thing to do I open IE, that works fine (but I still would prefer working with Firefox). Is there something to do about it?

Can anyone identify the extension MaggniPeica 1.5? It appeared in my extension list, and the only accompanying info is that it updated today. I have it disable for the moment. I am sure it is probably nothing worrisome, but I do not recognize it, and a Google search turned up nothing except some “almost matches” written in Spanish. Unless those pages were asking about a red jacket, a telephone, and if I knew what day it is; my limited Spanish is useless. Thank you for humoring me.

I would like my browser to close when I close the last tab. I tried browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab;true but when rightclicking the last tab, "close" is grayed out.

I have no idea why this is happening to me or how I can make it stop but... I have a really annoying problem with Firefox Nightly. Whenever there is an image, any kind of image, on a page it won’t finish loading approximately 99% of the time. It goes down maybe 20 inches and then all I see is the colour black, as if the loading sequence was interrupted or something.

I’ve tried clearing the history, cache, reinstalling Firefox Nightly and CCleaner to no use. My two or three addons that I use should not conflict with anything since I’ve been using them for a good while now.

The message "Additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page" occurs on every page of every web site. Click Install and I get message "No suitable plugins were found". V 19.0.2 Windows 8

Every time i try and get on to a bbc website i get redirected to hola even with links from webpages. I also had an rss link from the bbc news on the site bar in firefox this also takes me to hola, how do i stop this ?

On new computer with Windows 8 Firefox works fine for all URLs except when I enter one of my own websites - 'www.komokaweather.com' which is redirectsed to my ISPs site 'http://www.rogers.com/web/Rogers.portal'. It is ok when I enter as 'www.komokaweather.com/index' as well as 'www.komokaweather.ca' and all other addresses but not as just 'www.komokaweather.com'. I have tried on making 'www.komokaweather.com' as Home Page but that does not work either.

I have also upgraded to v.19.0.2 but no change. Paul

Though the Help files says that the "Awesome Bar" uses Google search, it is actually using Bing. I want it to use Google. How can I change it. Please note that I am talking about the "Awesome Bar" a.k.a. Address bar - not the Search Bar. Thanks.

Firefox keeps on opeing up where i left off instead of starting with my home page. I am using the lastest firefox with windows8. Dosen't happen with windows7. This has happened with the latest update.
